Durham v Notts (H) 16/5/25

Interesting days cricket. Brilliant knock by young Minto possibly could've scored a ton never mind a first FC 50. I was massively impressed as he was only a nightwatchman but was given an opportunity and filled his boots. Not too sure what some of the tactics were during the day by both sides. When Lees and McKinney were batting together Notts were bowling short with either 5 or 6 fielders on the leg side. Lees played most of the short pitched balls into the ground but McKinney wafted at everything and looked like a walking wicket. No idea what was going on there. Hopefully tomorrow Robbo will kick on like he is capable of and we can set a target. Although given the wicket I think it will end up being a draw.

Seems some people would rather we were 350 all out.

Not many years ago 3.29 an over would be considered a good run rate in first class cricket. Shame we won't get 4 or 5 batting points but we're in a really strong position going into day three. We've got some big hitters coming in lower down the order who could set up a declaration total.

Agreed.

320 in a day is good going I think especially 4 down. Still a long way to get a good lead, weather turned a bit tomorrow wonder if that will impact it.

Lot of criticism of Notts but I thought Patterson-white bowled tidy, can’t really remember a bad ball

Gay has gears mind I think he is key, he hit the shot of the day in the last over
Saffers touring Zimbabwe June and July, Australia in August and England in September.
Goodbye,Bedders.

Didn’t realize. Shame.

It’s another poor pitch but every team we have played at home this season has straight away set negative fields.

Third man, deep point and ring fields they even had no slips to new batsman. They wonder why county cricket is struggling.

We have played on 3 dreadful pitches this, away at Hampshire flat after 8 days and the one at Worcestershire that made the game a lottery and shocking outfield.

Wonder if we won't play bedders, didn't we only play him last season after we started crap I can't remember
We won't play Bedders because South Africa have a warmup game and the WTC Final in June.
I imagine they'd been given permission to leak it. And it very much looks as if it'll be Bedders who misses out.
Bedders will be playing for South Africa in the below dates.

3-6th June and 11-15th June

Correct, I did try pointing that out to him earlier. From Bedders himself, he hopes to play for Durham next week. After that it's all a guessing game given the South Africa scheduling. Not a chance he'll be involved in the T20 though
