DURHAM v NOTTS (a) C.C.

His record in the longer format is poor you can't dress it up

He can also bowl all day tho and not go for many

I said it time I wanted his brother like

None of our players are poor
I reckon Durham with a slight advantage at end of day 1 although that short boundary is probably worth 40 runs. But very decent opening days.

The short boundary defs means it’s up in air

Instinct feels like we’ve left a few out there but theyve got a really good attack there, 2 proper quicks, the overseas, decent spinner and a proper all rounder

Good start though for us you have to say

Pointless bowling all day if you don't look threatening we need wicket takers to challenge, he only goes at a low economy mainly because not everyone has the same attacking intent we do.

Being overly harsh like, the Riverside offers nothing for the spinners

I admit he’s a much better white ball bowler

I wanted to see sowter get a game
He's decent in t20 I'm not it's not like he was good before he came either it's simple he doesn't do well enough for someone wanting to challenge

Just not very good
He's good just not very good. He's the best spinner we've got I think, and a good spinner is important in the balance of the team. Whether he plays or drizzel plays I guess could be down to a difference in captain'd opinion between Scotty and Lees, with Lees preferring a more competent batter.

When you have matty potts batting at 11 you don't need the most competent batter when his main job is with the ball, parky is decent enough in t20 but not really for a side wanting to challenge going forward in the longer format, if Minto and hogg can establish themselves this season I wouldn't be against us signing a quality overseas spinner next season

That's a bit OTT, he took 30 wickets last year, only Potts and Raine took more. Ok, the average per was high, but then he gets put on when the pitch goes flat and the seamers are tiring. Drizzel's wickets/run conceded are worse. I think we need more from him, but I still think he's the best spinner on the books.

And I like the comment earlier that none of our players are poor.

Do you not think taking wickets at over 40 is poor

Fair comment

No it’s not terrible when his home ground is flat as a pancake

Notts batting lineup weaker than last season. Had Haynes and Young or Verreynne in their top 6.

James normally a 7 and he's gonna be at 5 or 6 with Montgomery taking other slot when he played 4 games last season and averaged 17.
