Durham v Notts (a) C. C.

Yep. I heard from a source at the club he’s not having his contract renewed so not too sure why he’d be helping out with drinks then

If that’s true it would be a shame. He showed great potential last season in the RL50. Don’t doubt what you are saying, but we’ve had one or two bits of misinformation flying about on here recently.

If he was told he wasn’t getting a new deal he wouldn’t have to train/play for Durham.

If he still had an existing one to run he’d be breaching the terms of that contract if he refused to turn up for work though, thus forfeiting any salary owed.

Or it could well be that he hasn’t been told he won’t be getting a new deal? 🤷‍♂️

I think its fair to say if a player on a development contract is still at the club with 3 days of the season left and is actually involved with the 1st XI i wiuld say its a fair assumption that he is going to be st the club in 2023.
The interesting thing for Durham supporters will be when the club actually inform us along with the other 4 young players on development contracts.

Have to disagree with you here. Look at Eckersley he would’ve been continuing to be paid till the end. Look at Burnham he was continued to be paid till the end. I believe it works differently in cricket and after July if the county tells you that you won’t have a new contract you are then able to train with another club and not required to go into the ground for training but is optional. So maybe that is what Luke is doing?

Disagreeing is fine, I’m not arguing, just suggesting how it could be different.

Perhaps Eckersley asked to be released from his contract and both parties were happy to either forego the money or reach a settlement. With Doneathy, perhaps neither side want to concede any ground and so he’s staying till he gets his money? OR perhaps Doneathy thinks if he remains professional and keeps his nose clean he may end up getting some sort of offer.

I have no idea, I’m just thinking aloud. There’ve been a lot of anti-club rumours on here lately and I’m not sure anyone here is genuinely ITK.

It certainly seems odd that he wasn’t given much of a go this season considering how successful he was in 2021.

There's been plenty of people arguing about how they know the crack the problem is the ITKs disagree with each other over what the crack actually is
