Durham v Northants T20 14/7/24 @ 2:30pm

Club update already this morning on conditions.... Over 4 hours before start of play. Great communication and just goes to show they can't be arsed when it comes to county cricket to communicate early for members.
I saw that on twitter earlier and was expecting this post from you

I had the exact same thoughts, inform when they are worried about losing out on revenue, but not loyal members.

I get it from a business perspective that you need to be more on it for a day when more money at stake. But I'd ask why they can't do the same for every game.

Break in the rain according to the forecast from 2 until about 5, hopefully get some
Kind of a game on today, fortunately live close enough to see if play look likely on the livestream then head down, might try the back of the County Durham stand for some rain cover

Weather app shows it raining from now until 3pm. I can see the game starting before 4. What’s the latest it can start?

I’m convinced that weather forecasters, like First Class umpires just guess. They’re the biggest frauds going. If I was incorrect in my job as often as them I’d have been sacked in the first week.

As it is, it’s after 2pm and the rain is torrential.

Like I've said time and time again (and remarkably some defend the club) it's not difficult to communicate and provide updates in 2024, it takes 10-15 seconds to tweet something. As I said the first game of the season the club would have known the state of the pitch, it didn't need an umpire at 10am to provide an update. As you've said it's all about revenue and the club are always good at providing updates to concerts and T20 which is clear proof they can do it. They simply cannot be arsed about county cricket and it's becoming more and more obvious

Need to get one of those websites that shows live coverage of the ground 24/7 and let people take a guess themselves.
