Durham v Middx (H) C:C.

Been some brutal bowling this afternoon. Borthwick has batted very well. Bushnell currently 18 off 56 balls, doing well to take time out of the game. I expect handshakes soon though.
Just said on commentary that they could shake hands now but Middlesex are behind on the over rate which is why Rocky's come on to bowl.

Bushnell looks all at sea to Robson like

They can’t shake hands until 17 overs remain in the game.

Or in theory, 19 if Durham declare.

I'm just saying what the commentators said. Personally early finishing times on games like this have always confused me.

After all of that I'm left with a feeling of '"why did they bother with cricket after 12 o'clock on day one", that being the point at which you knew it was going to be a draw.

It's a big shame. Another accidental step forward with the ECB's plan of killing the County game. That's a bit dramatic but after the covid shutdown a good season of good competitive cricket was needed and that's not what has been served up.

As someone who sat in the sunshine watching Jones score a double hundred I'm pretty glad they didn't give up on day one.

Reckon we will win another CC game this season?
No. We have one home game left which they may as well call a draw now. We won't beat Notts away, we have Derbyshire away who are progressing well and Leicestershire away who we maybe give a game to. The wicket at home is an absolute disgrace, I make no apologies for being that outspoken. It has served up some appalling cricket this year, by far the worst year I've sat through, crap. It's another game we haven't won and we're absolutely miles off the pace. 1 win in 10 games in unacceptable. The pitch issue needs addressing as a matter or urgency, members are beyond sick of watching this. Looking forward to the One Day Cup now. Even if Im offered to get time off for Sussex at home in September, I don't think I'll bother, it's absolutely shit to watch.

This season Durham players have so far scored 14 centuries. Match that against only 1 win and wow!

Oh yea the answer to your question is I doubt it.
If we do you'd think the game at Leicester is the best chance.
