England will be pulling those strings with the club even though he's not centrally contracted. I'd expect Potts to make an appearance for us in the one day cup ahead of the test series, along with Stokes maybe
 
Doubt Stokes is going to bother playing a development 50 over competition when he’s retired from that format at international level. Potts absolutely no chance he’s at Hundred.

it will be around 4 weeks without any cricket in that case for stokes............ is that ideal prep for a test series?

There must be an argument that sees Stokes play a handful of one day games because at the very least it’ll be overs in his legs and time spent in the middle from a match fitness point of view.

Which was why I had hoped he’d be in this weeks squad.

I think Stokes sees himself as a 12 month of the year cricketer and when ever he can have an extended break he will take it for body and mind.
It will definitely be his decision as he knows where he is better than anyone.
Potts I reckon is a different case it will be the England managing him and telling him to rest up as he could have a long winter ahead of him as well and if he succeeds with England he will become a 12 month of the year cricketer. Then just like Stokes Colly and Harmy he will value the time off more than playing domestic cricket. Just the way it is I suppose.
 
Weather app is telling us probably ok till around when I finish work so I'll be popping back on here for a quick report from the ground when I'm nearing setting off (around 2ish)

So if any of our resident Micheal fishes can help us out then it'd be appreciated 👍
