Durham v Middlesex [A] C.C. 1/5/26

Not sure about this LBW decision for us mind

It was a shocker of a decision, but it’s probably a make-up call for an earlier one that was absolutely stone dead.
Decent effort on a very flat deck mind you Middlesex have shown zero intent to score.

Yeah, very strange tactics from them in my view. Not sure what their plan is, although given our start to the season, a draw in this fixture wouldn’t be the end of the world.

I see Roach has been substituted, the young ginger lad who used to live at Castle Eden will be a very handy replacement for the next two games :)

I think we've done well today

Seems that way, from what I can see the pitch looks pretty flat, we’ve taken 6 wickets and they’ve gone nowhere fast.

A good first hour tomorrow would be great, because it could have us batting before lunch. I do expect it’ll be a tough test when we come to bat though, their lads will know better than anyone how to bowl on that slope.

We don't want to be chasing the game on Sunday or Monday as the batting conditions will be tough. That last partnership hurt us as we were right in it at 199/5

Luke Robinson for Roach is hardly a like for like replacement on the true sense.

Roach is turning into Conners.

I think it was a fair enough fear when we announced his signing like. He’s not young and missed games for Surrey last time round with injuries too.

I said it at the time I wouldn’t have minded Yusuf back to be honest. Although he seems to be getting pelters from Hampshire fans.

When we signed roach I was ok with it. Formerly a great bowler who while not being what he was should compensate lack of grunt with craft and guile. However, when I saw him he didn't match well against Potts and Raine. So I think our homegrowns can compensate for his loss. Shame, but we should be able to manage.

Yes,his figures v N Zealand in the winter indicated there was performances. Fortunately we have Stokes next 2 games. Lack of development of Academy products remains a concern despite the denial of it by a few on here

We have rotten luck with bowlers and injuries.
Has someone else got injured now or just talking still about Roach?

You've just made me realise we've got 3 away games on the trot in the CC!!!

Was thinking what an amazing thing it will be to see Stokes at CLS. But we're deptrived of that this season due to scheduling!
