Can we just opt out of next seasons T20? Seeing how we just won't ever be any good at it.

It annoys the fuck out of me that the club waste so much time and money on this Micky Mouse format. That f***ing Durham Jets banner is STILL on the website.

Well that's not a very good idea is it?
branners something tells me and i dont know why but you dont like t20. no probs with that but the next generation or the one after that enjoy the game. its great seeing all thed kids there and the players being good with them

we lost tonight, it does not really matter but we saw 360 ish runs in 40 overs, some great catching fielding and batting

enjoyable experience, no aggro with fans and a pleasant evening

Until we can get crowds like tonight, for even one day of a 4 day game, the club have every right to try and make themselves as much money as they can from the cash cow that is T20. Interestingly, crowds are down for this format across the counties so maybe the bubble is beginning to burst. It definitely has in India and Pepsi are rumoured to be pulling out of major sponsorship.

With regards the bubble bursting - I just feel they've messed the schedule up. The decision to make the majority of games a Friday is a good idea, but it's such a long, drawn out tournament that I think it's difficult to follow. I'd assume the ECB want to have as much success with the T20 as the IPL and Big Bash - but of course that's played all in one go, with every other format being put on the back burner.

There's a lot of cricket to fit in granted and I'm not going to pretend I know how best to schedule it all, I just think the above is a possible reason for it becoming less supported.

I also think that clubs (Durham especially) could charge a little less for games/season tickets.

Dunno like, even games against teams like Scotland in the 40 over cup over the last few seasons have been pretty healthy.

Interestingly Melbourne Stars average crowds in the BBL have fallen from 37,000 to 14,500 in just 3 seasons and IPL crowds are down 60% from the start of the first season so you're right when you say it looks like the t20 bubble is beginning to burst. Also think the longer t20 tournament is more of a hindrance than a blessing for everyone involved.

aye, pretty hard in this country where we only really have 8-12 weeks of quality weather and even then a load of it will be lost to odd days of crapness, to fit in three competitions is pretty hard going.

what i would be all for is playing all the county stuff first then having the t20 all at the end, wonder how possible that would be. cc april - august and the t20 all during september roughly.

might be abit hard on spinners in the county side and t20 only players though

season tickets for adults at £70 for seven games. not sure what a childs cost but they can usually get in for a £1

you cant get much cheaper than that
