Durham v Leicester T20

Well getting beat of this shower is dismal indeed
I know the ball is wet for the bowlers and the outfield is slippy but there is very little excuse for the wides and no balls which we conceded and cost the game.
I thought Potts was a tad unlucky but Raine was just chuckling pies
I don’t know why we didn’t put them in knowing the weather situation and knowing that D/L always favours those batting second

Durham has really let itself go this season. After last Wednesday the atmosphere just feel rotten as well. We had about 50 stewards today all giving us the evils if we sat in the wrong place or didn't have a mask on too

Do you rate him? I must admit I don't follow the 4 day game. But I've kept an eye on the t20s, even this board have plenty negatives to say about him in thr blast.
In the four day game he's bowled exceptionally at the Riverside but rather average away from home.

His batting has been absolutely atrocious in this competition coming in early. He even failed twice against Notts 2nds when we fielded the first team at the Riverside.

He bowled well v Yorkshire at the death but like a lot of our side his game has fallen apart since the Northants home debacle.

Wasn't there for the bowling but the front end batting was poor. A rescue job had to be done, before even considering posting a competitive score. It seems our performances against the better County sides are turbo charged, but against the "weaker" sides there the polar opposite. Left around 8pm mainly because I didn't think it would be possible to get back on again, but the batting had been piss poor and a DLS adjusted total would be gettable as the run rate was low to begin with.

Losing the toss makes it hard to put them in mind

We’ve lost 2 games to Northants and 1 to Leicester, which on its own is an absolute embarrassment.

BUT, we’re still in line for a QF slot given the results around us. Three games to go, two wins will get us over the line and so all is most certainly not lost.

I can’t fathom what’s happened to Stokes, it’s not just the low scores, it’s the dismissals. He’s getting out in the most bizarre circumstances. A few games he’s come in and tried to smash the ball into orbit every single ball - that hasn’t worked, but then in the last couple he’s seemed to want to actually spend a bit of time at the crease and build an innings and that hasn’t gone for him either. Regardless, that’ll be him gone for the season now I’d imagine…..? I’m guessing he’ll be in the England squad for the Pakistan series.

We’re not much better than mediocre in truth, a lot of bits and pieces cricketers in the lineup, if we lose an early wicket or two we go to bits and have to try to scratch around to get to 150, which more often than not just won’t get it done in T20.

We’re probably two quality batsmen and a top quality spinner away from being realistic candidates for finals day.

It’s where we’re at quite frankly.

What does everyone think of the ground/atmosphere in general? I think they could do with some refurbs like. Stand I was in had a pool of water bigger than lake Victoria.

RE: stokes and most T20 players. I'm seeing a lot of these scooper/high shots and it doesn't pay off to play that way when they need the runs at the time..
