Durham v Lancs T20

Hopefully Durham make a better impression in this seasons t20 than they have in most of the previous years. Be interesting to see if they keep to the line up who have played so well in the 40 over matches.
Looking on the Durham site the seconds have already qualified for their version of finals day to be played at Arundel, looking at the scorecard the team looks like it is made up of plenty of Academy players with the development contract players.
Personally i would like to see Stokes bat at no3 after Mustard and Stoneman.

Don't really care

Use it to blood some youngsters like yorks in 40

Doubt the accountants agree

I know what you mean, but it is here to stay and will continue to take up the best part of the summer. Would love to see them give a couple of youngsters a go especially as the seconds have been going so well.

It would make sense but I guess we'll have our usual feeble attempt at qualifying first

the latest BBC forecast for Chester has it stop raining between 4 and 5 then brighten up, not ideal but if correct would mean they should get a full game on

I'm off today and heading down later. Anyone know what the latest time is they can start tonight?

Think our lack of overseas player will see us fall short again, when you look around the counties a lot have recruited well for this tournement and although a top order including Stokes, Mustard, Stoneman, Collingwood should do well, I don't think there's anywhere near enough bowling variety for us to really do well.

been looking at the rules as is usually the case with cricket they are not easy reading
my take on it is this (I may be wrong)
normal finish time is 20:15 but they can allow a 30 minute extension if conditins allow. Minimum innings to constitute a match is 5 overs per side (as per England last night) the rules allow 3.75 mins per over and the minimum break is 10 mins. So 10 x 3.75 = 37.5 + 10 = 47.5 mins minimum for the game
count back from 20:45 gives us 19:57 latest start.

Cheers. Mad that they can potentially start that late. My gut feeling is that it'll stop raining around 4, but muck on with the pitch till around 6.

I agree, start half an hour late, put on the extra half an hour and play the full game.

good news is the end of the rain has just come forward an hour on the Beeb's forecast.

Same on the met office. Might even start on time.

This. A decent batter or even a hard hitting allrounder [seeing as Benks is out] would have been ideal.

spoony; said:

Grinds my gears this crack.

Brightened up a bit now. There'll be messing on with the pitch, as long as it doesn't rain again we could start at half 5. If not then, latest 6 I'd imagine. I'll reiterate that's if it doesn't rain again.

Not from next season it won't. T20 games will be played mainly on Friday nights throughout the whole season so there will be no huge gap without any 4 day championship games.

Durham now 100 for 4. 67 needed from 5.3 overs. It all rests on Stokes and Muchall as there's not much batting after that.
