Clark hasn't had a bat yet this season, not sure if he's playing NEPL cricket but I do see your point about giving the youngsters a chance. It's not an easy fix this unfortunately.
Clark scored 40 odd and 4 wkts for Blaydon in NEPL . Next day scored 130 for Academy v CLS .

First weekend in August

Just been out and come back in and looked at scorecard.
Utter shite four ducks and my prediction of losing by an innings looks to be going to be fulfilled unfortunately.
Those looking to Clark as being a saviour are as deluded as our mag friends because he isn’t the answer having had plenty of chances in the past.
I also don’t buy into this div 1 ,div2 difference shit because it’s not football .
Neds had a terrible start this year as well
Very disheartening.Yes we did lose by an innings 👹👹

I've never suggested Clark is our saviour so please stop trying to twist what I was suggesting.

Cheers, good to hear he's had some game time and has done well.

Mike Jones played in win over CLS. Poynter Played yesterday v Willington.Josh Coughlin has also played.Mostly it's a young U18 side from club sides who they represent on a Saturday. They play away on Sundays.Think to fill a gap by Shotley Bridge not playing this year?
110 all out.
1 short of the dreaded Nelson 😀

well at least they're getting some cricket in. I don't see the harm giving them a go now in the first team as this lot are utter shite and have had their chance in what is a short window of opportunities.

I think it is a shame that Durham CC has brought more players from outside the area, Durham CC has always been about developing the local talent with a few experienced players from further afield....only 2 local lads in this team vs Lancs....
3 Burnham, Raine and Rushworth. But your point still stands.

I never named anybody and I certainly wasn’t twisting anything.
I was stating was is obvious from history of Clark’s previous record of mediocracy in my opinion of course.
The unfortunate truth is that we are lacking in real talent these days so don’t try to pick an argument where there is none.
If I was in an debating mood I could offer that Richardson was as good or better than those on current show

Not in four day cricket

Well it's fair to say everyone knew my opinion on Richardson

They have got to try something different here. Personally as I said on another thread the other day I would have Been Raine open the batting. He spent years doing it as a youngster at Durham, technically he is a good leaver if the ball and knows where his off stump is. He shouldn't be expected to score a boat load if runs but if he could see the first dozen overs off occasionally it would give our other batsmen a bit of breathing space.
The Luxury of using Raine in this role is he has his bowling to fall back on if he doesn't make runs so he is not terrified of being dropped after a couple of matches where he doesn't score many runs
Just a thought as times are pretty desperate and I reckon they need to do something very different to try to salvage something.

Absolutely no chance.

Lees has been our best batsman by far and we’ve just signed specialist opener Dickson.

More chance of me batting 3 at Leicester on Saturday.

Brandon lad I would never knock your ability with the bat. We could do with another crack hander in the top 6.

He should never have given up the gloves regardless who decision it was. He was a very handy county wicket keeper/batsmen.

Wouldn't mind if they were any good. Steel and Harte are in their late 20's now and failed to kick on. SAffer opener, you can see why he couldn't get a game for Kent.
