Durham Cricket Club
Muchall out lbw to Smith for 54. Durham 94-3 after 24.4 overs.

Im sure its too dark now

157-3 now. Going well but being ignored with SL collapsing ... good work from Stokes and Benks. Top order continuing the reliability and could do with pushing on ths evening towards 200.

Durham Cricket Club
Durham 179-3 after 47.5 overs, Benkenstein 36* and Stokes 44. Partnership 89.

Apart from Tres, Stokes and Benks must be the most in-form players on the county circuit right now.

Colly should be in the team shortly ... but tough to figure out who to drop. Smith would seem the obvious one but there no other opener (maybe Stoneman comes in) and he just made a big hundred. I think I'd go for:

Di Venuto
Stoneman
Muchall
Stokes
Benkenstein
Collingwood
Mustard
Blackwell
+3 seamers.

Canny long batting line-up!

Great day for Durham, pity it wasn't longer. Stokes will be an England worry for the one dayers if he keeps up his current form.

500 miniminum imo, then have a real gd go with the new ball and chase down in the last session if hopefully no rain.

Great day for Durham. Why they can't play later than 6.30 is beyond me though. Weather is great. Test cricket can play past 7pm so why can't we?! Anyway, look to get 400 tomorrow, that is the aim. I'm not going to be too greedy just yet but I think if we can bat until Tea we'll be in a great position.

Anyone know what will happen if Onions is selected by england for the 2nd Test? Rumours today that he'd leave us during the game, however I don't think we've nominated anyone to fill his place if he does go. Meaning we'd be a bowler light yet again..... ECB are a joke.

I'd assume that means they're either not going to call him up, or they have to let us replace him because we cant be left with 10 men.

I think Onions might be in the squad but left out the final XI. Surely we'd be able to pull Brathwaite/Plunkett in if need be and they'd be allowed to bowl in the second innings.

yep your allowed to bring another player if a player is called for by their international team during a game.

I was there today for the final session and it was a pleasure to see Stokes batting. He just times the ball so well and seems to have the full array of shots.

Mind, the Lancs bowling looked very impotent so I can see us scoring another 250 runs by tea time. Put them in and hopefully knock a few over before close of play.

Kevin Howells needed to change his pants after seeing Stokes
