Durham v Lancashire - South North

Sorry if I have jumped into other posters' thread (not sorry). But I was wondering about arrangements....

I haven't been to an 'out ground' in a while - and I have not been to Gosforth for a game. I know the area well, from being a student in the early 90's.

Anyway - anything I need to know about travel, parking, refreshments/food, seating or 'owt' else?

I'm taking Keaton Jennings' aunt - so I don't want to get things wrong!

I don't think parking is easy as it is residential on one side and the High Street on the other. If you are travelling from South of the Tyne it's easier to park up at a metro station like Heworth and pop over on the metro.
Not much seating get there early with s deckchair if u don't fancy standing.
Keats aunty might already know but I doubt he will be even traveling he injured himself today at Old Trafford and is on crutches.

I'm astonished that Keats hasn't ensured that VIP treatment hasn't already been arranged for his Aunt..I can only assume he isn't aware that she wishes to attend.
Travelling, parking and seating are problematic even for Durham members-the corporate guests are very much the priority for this game.

weather looks shite.

parking - residential, though there may be some pay car parks in the area. I manage to park at the wifes aunts so all fine

seating - few park benches so i usually take a camping seat as it's all very geared up for the prawn sandwich folk

It's many years since I was last at Jesmond. The callers pegusus England XI v Rest of the World XI used to be good.

I used to like going to watch Northumberland in the minor counties. Jon Benn and Howard Sidney-Wilmot their best players at the time.

Just looking at the squads and considering the strengths of the respective sides we really should be winning this one. Favourable prices with the bookies too, we’re shorter than evens but not by a great deal.

No Jennings for them, or the lads at the 16.4 (Vilas, Mahmood, Parkinson, etc) so their batting looks very inexperienced up against what is maybe the best lineup in the competition for Durham.

TBF we just lost against a weak Gloucestershire side because our bowling is Tom Tit!
