Durham v Kent (A) C.C. 15/5/26

Well the run of starting the match threads for the county championship continues and now guaranteed to complete the winter/spring block of 6 matches in 7 weeks.
Didn't get to watch a lot of our previous match at Worcester but although it was a fantastic win in the end I thought Durham made hard work of it in that first innings with the ball.
So now off to Beckenham to face Kent for the 2nd time this season. As far as Durham Xl goes i would imagine Potts comes straight back in after a week off and more than likely our new overseas opening bowler. The most likely casualty will be Luke Robinson and then that famous club cricketer A.N. Other. It could be Raine if they want to give him a break going into the T20 but I doubt it as he is to important or even Aldridge but I don't think his workload has been particularly that heavy. I suppose it will be an interesting decision to be made on Friday morning.
As far as our opponents go they didn't look particularly good at the Riverside in the opening fixture of the season and it doesn't look like the have improved much since.
I normally give an Xl but honestly don't know what way they will go with the option to rest players.
Finally from a bookies perspective Durham are now 4/7 odds on to win the 2nd division.

P.S. the t20 starts next week so someone has to decide whether they are going to start individual match threads or just do a Durham T20 thread. I'm strictly a championship thread starter.

I think Raine might be rested for this one. Maybe a question mark over Ollie Robinson as well.
That would have been the plan but with a light workload in the Worcs 2nd innings and a days extra rest I'd play him. With 4 frontline seamers his workload shouldn't be excessive. Any thoughts of excluding Parki will be dismissed given his performance in Worcs 2nd innings.
As for Lees....

Yep, good points about the workload and the extra days rest. Like Wayne says, this is the last game of the initial block of Championship games and we have a chance here if we win to put ourselves in a ridiculously strong position - one game shy of the halfway stage - as far as promotion is concerned.

The season we won Division 2, 168 points was enough to get promotion - a win at Beckenham would put us on between 110-115 - basing that on 3-8 bonus points.

I wonder what is wrong with him. They say form is temporary but class is permanent. But this run of poor form has gone on for a long time now. Is he unsettled here?
As Bri will no doubt remember, it seemed to coincide with being on the fringes of England selection. A real shame.

The hosts have added a loan signing to their squad for tomorrow:
