Durham v Gloucestershire [A] C.C. (10/4/26)

It's worrying we have to persevere with an out of form batsman like Ackerman.

I'd have picked Conners over Minto, I know we are trying to develop young players but he was the best bowler against Durham UCCE.

Less concerned about Parkinson. He seems to have tightened up his bowling with aim to holding down an end.

Hmm pleased Ackerman has been dropped but Parky really is only an effective T20 bowler the lack of a quality spinner continues to be a problem.

Saw the difference Patel and Kunerhman made when we had those briefly won us games.

Very easy so far. Bancroft will be rueing his decision to bowl

Even without seeing the pitch or the conditions I thought it was odd.

Marty said it was chilly this morning and there’s a bit of moisture in the pitch - they called for sawdust early on - but it doesn’t appear to have done anything at all for the bowlers.

I did wonder though with the expected rain tomorrow (and maybe on Day 4) the thinking of Bancroft was that bowling first gives them the best chance of avoiding defeat.

They’re currently bottom of the league on -1 points
McKinney 8 4's and 2 6's. Hmm, canny but, don't get out, you're an opener!

That’s the way he plays in fairness, both sixes were fairly ‘risk free’ if there’s such a thing. His game is suited to the hard ball and tight, attacking fields that you get at the start of an innings.

Craig Miles on to bowl, I’m right in saying he’s had a loan spell with us hasn’t he?

101-0 in the 21st over.
