Durham v DUCCE

No further play today.

Amazed they got as much to be honest, can’t imagine it was a pleasant experience for anyone. It’s been absolutely freezing all day, made worse with that wind.
Feels like winter's returned.

Welcome to the start of the cricket season.

Temperatures not likely to get above 8 degrees on Friday, with the average around 5 according to the long range forecast.

I can only get down for the first hour or so on Friday as I am away for the weekend. 8 degrees!?

Sadly I am going to Scotland so it will likely be even colder up there.

Anyone off to the members forum tonight?

I have a similar dilemma, I can probably do the first session, maybe even an hour into the afternoon.

I’m not going to Scotland like you though.

You are more than welcome to take my place up there if you fancy your chances looking after two toddlers, Mrs TBM, Mother TBM and the Mother-in-Law
Nope, sick of all the talk from the club. I cynically think they have deliberately put this on a Monday night to make it awkward for members to attend, when they could have hosted it Sat or Sunday when the game was on and it was easier for working folk to attend.

I thought similar. Due to take place "after the friendly with Durham UCCE". Well given it is being played in unfavourable conditions, what time do we expect it to end? Surely they won't play until the usual close of play and what happens if they decide to call it a day at 4pm due to the weather? Are they really going to hang around until after 6pm to start this? I thought the lack of start time was quite telling and also inconvenient for members to arrange to attend.

Yup, that is how this club operates at the moment. They don't like to be questioned and they're making it awkward.

There was always a "meet the players" evening on, with the team doing media earlier in the day........ absolutely nothing about that this year and it seems they have just thrown in this one at an inconvenient time in hope very few attend.

Bat for a session, declare, bowl the students out inside two sessions…

That’s my plan anyway.

Pulled a similar stunt during the last home game against Worcs when they held the meeting after play was washed out in front of a few members and then had to hold another one during the lunch break later in the game.

Have the club had their ‘media day’? Or is it due to be this week?

Just caught up with today's play.

Ackermann had another shocker.

Why isn't Connors bowling? Surely not another injury.
