Durham to be Relegated

It’s a real worry poor recruitment, lack of application when batting. Lees captaincy is very poor.

Potts has been nowhere near his usual standard and no decent spin option. Most of the top 6 have had one good game then go missing for a few.

Was not sold on Rhodes or Gay at least he’s has a couple of good knocks Rhodes looks a strange signing.

Sadly all the young bowlers are injured or not come on.

Last year Raine and Potts where both brilliant Raine had been good as ever Potts by his own high standards has been very poor.

We need a couple of wins to be safe hope we get them. But if we play like we have last few games we are bang in trouble.
I reckon it would be better for Potts if he wasn't involved with England and spend a lot more time bowling (for Durham).

7 pts, definately a major concern, the inability to see off Warwicks and Yorkshire early in the season is now hurting us. Putting the Worcs cabbage patch aside weve won one county game this season. Bowling has seen constant changes and batting has been ok but is currently inconsistent. As a minimun we need to get back to 400 plus scores first innings and be pushing 12 to 13 points a game at worst as I dont see Durham defending any 4th innings targets under 350, we just havent got the bowling this year.
We must get a consistent 11out now, need Bedders in form, Gay, who has been a good signing, to get more 50s than ducks ... and pick the same bowling attack, no more chopping and changing, Killeen got 5, had been fit but then Conners, and several others have played since.
A good 2020 campaign is a plus but we need 4 day points ... and quickly.

Don't forget the Somerset home game which was nothing short of abysmal where we had them 128-9 in their first inns (149 runs behind) on the Saturday and 24 hours later had lost by 7 wickets.

Jamie Overton called into the England squad, which means I’d expect Gus Atkinson to make the trip to CLS.

Posting here, since the match thread isn’t up yet.
Guaranteed to be in the bottom two on Friday evening.

12 points from safety, going to have to win a minimum of two games with one of them being Essex.

The way they are playing at the moment I can't see them winning any of their last three fixtures.
Worcs looks to be the best chance but they beat us up here last season and in 2023 we only got the better of them due to an incredibly generous declaration in their first innings and secondly we actually had a decent spinner briefly in our side at the time.

Kuhnemans (sp) spell in that final session was a joy to behold. If I remember correctly I think there was about 7 helmets being worn for the last few overs

The belief seems to have drained from the team, there's something not right at the club. It took us seven hard years to rebuild and get out of division two and they're throwing it all away.
If there has been one glaring issue for me this year it has been the mentality of the batters. The number of times I've said this year, both under my breath and a few times out loud, 'What a stupid shot'. The perfect example was the last game, McKinney caught at long on when he should have just been accumulating runs. Batting correctly for the situation.
