Durham t20 v northants Wednesday

Afternoon all I'm taking the whole family to the game Wednesday evening itl be my 3 kids n wife's 1st experience and for me 1st time I've been for over 10 year and for the life of me I can't remember where I parked back then so I was just wanting advice on parking and what time we can enter he ground I want to be in early and savour every minute of it, also what's the rule of food n drink still able to take own? Very excited about it and so pleased my family have caught the love for cricket I've always had, thanks all in advance

There's a good car park opposite the ground which costs £2.00 i think, i've not driven there in a while so someone might know better than me. I'm sure you can take your own food and drink in as long as it's not alcohol!

Ground will open at 4.30pm for a 6.30pm start. Just turn in to the stadium and head right or left at the little roundabout - car park either side (more parking to the right), stewards will direct you in to a spot, £2.
No problem with food or drink but they will inspect your bag(s) - no booze.

OP - Much better to park on the left as you go in, much easier to get out after. The big car parks a bit of a nightmare to get away from since one of the exits is blocked by the mobile testing unit.

Wasn’t expecting this one to sell out so didn’t rush to buy tickets, big mistake, so I’ll be watching via YouTube this time unfortunately

Yes, I usually use the one on the left although my mate always uses the main one to the right and it’s never taken him more than 10 minutes to get away after during the reduced capacity.

He’s usually collecting tickets which means he needs to walk round past the main car park anyway and he’s partially disabled so much closer for him. He reckons the stewards have been pretty good at getting everybody away quickly from the main car park but that will probably change with bigger crowds.

I park in a street over the dual carriageway. Can't be chuffed with the parking over the road. Guarantee I'm through the tunnel long before the official car parks empty.

Seats in the Vertu and County Durham Stand have been pre allocated for this game and will not be available. There is enough seats in the rest of the venue to allow for social distancing. Stewards will assist with this on the evening. - wtf!!

Watched all the T20 Blast and the 4 day games from the trap door stand. Are they saying it’s unavailable tomorrow?
Me too.

I thought it was a bit strange that the Northants game was announced as being a sell out when they were selling tickets on the night for the other home games (not including Yorks).

As usual the announcement on the DCCC site is a bit vague. Who is being designated the two stands - The Nathan Buck Army? Sponsors guests? Key workers ? Or are they preparing the stands for the International?

Bizarre decision seeing as approximately 1700 DCCC members donated last season's fees to the club as a gesture of goodwill and are now being told to vacate their favoured seats and budge up in the Don Robson.

Noticed on the Durham web site that entrance is via gate 2 only for this one (been wandering in gate 5 next to the trap door for the other games). Makes you think we might not be welcome round that side.
Yes I've been coming in through Gates 5 or 6 for all four T20s.

Some nice queues at Gate 2 to look forward to.

Some weird decisions going on at the moment at the club as Franklin and Killeen are clearing off to coach in The H*****d while the team are playing in the 50 Over Cup.🤔
