Can you send me one as well please?

Ah balls, I will post it

A member of staff ignored numerous attempts of communication with Cotton Traders to re-negotiate a new contract. Staff have since been made redundant by Cotton Traders and as far as I'm aware the club are yet to make an official confirmation of who their new kit supplier will be despite the Cotton Traders contract ending at the end of October 2012.

The stock Cotton Traders had left over from their end of season sale, some went back to the warehouse and a few bits are getting sold at the Dalton Park shop in Murton.

All handled very poorly by Durham but hopefully now that the person responsible for the "communication" has left the club, things may well improve.

The very same person who set up a merchandise stall outside the cotton traders shop during the SA T20 game, very spiteful.

Talk coming out of the club is that another retirement is imminent, and it's not Steve Harmison.

My money's on Blackwell. I've been told his shoulder could take up to 9 months to recover which effectively rules him out of the next season. He's also keen to get on the umpire's reserve list as well to become a professional umpire.

Looks like the hotel and probably the stand ideas have been shelved for now. I wonder what the ECB will make of that? It was a supposed requirement that in order to get The Ashes that DCCC has a new permanent stand rather than putting up a temporary one.

also

Plunkett being sent to Australia to get him ready for the new season. Durham should have done that instead of letting the lad do basically what he wanted during the winter.

Interesting about Yorkshire now trying to go big on having pop concerts at Headingley in an effort to make £500k per anum. I wonder how much this might start to impinges on SAFC and it also begs the question of following on from DCCC's staging of a Tom Jones concert last year whether they have the staff to pull off such an event during 2013. DCCC has a new commercial manager of course who will be looking to make his mark.

Some interesting stories.

On the subject of sending players to Australia, I know Mark Wood & Stoneman have been playing in Australia recently, with Mustard & Claydon playing in New Zealand.

Durham would be daft not to explore trying to host more concerts, it can bring decent money into the club/area.

The Ashes test is a great opportunity to put Durham CCC on the map. The failure to get the hotel development up and running is a real shame but hardly a shock given the fact we're skint.

Did they make money on the Tom Jones concert. Was under the impression they did not break even on it.
Dont know.

ATM everything the club touches turns to shit and they seem to be at a cross roads. Its amazing how many bad business decisions they have made since 2009. Everyone on the admin side appears to be bailing out of the club.

Could we afford Shaun Marsh now Blackwell has left?

Would imagine Durham would still have had to pay him a large percentage of the last year of his contract so not really saving that much money. Just means he is not hanging around the Riverside this season and Durham are not involved in his rehab for the next 9 months. Also Blackwell does not have to spend anymore time in the north east. Probably best move all round.

Shame, because he was a nice bloke and a very decent cricketer. However for various reasons, common knowledge at the club and amongst members, the writing was on the wall here.

Harmison goes in September and I'm sure that Collingwood and Benkenstein's contract are then up the year after.

The club is currently clearing the decks - in all departments - mainly due to a lack of finances, and it looks to me as though it is almost ready for the next stage of its development.

Quite a bit of money saved now Plunkett and Blackwell have gone. Just wish they could boot Harmison out

The rumours about Blackwell have been circulating for months now but I'd like to wish him well as he's a canny player and a very friendly bloke who passed on a couple of shirts to us both.

All the best with his umpiring career.

There seems to be some doubt about the Blackwell situation as of this morning, Durham haven't released anything and Blackie himself has said he hasn't spoke to anyone about his future yet.

Maybe someone has jumped the gun on this one?

Interesting. Still think he'll go like.
