good moves for the club imho. no baggage from the sport and plenty of people around him to help get upto speed.

Hope he has a clear mandate to make changes needed and harker isn't watching over his shoulder.

think curbishley could be a good move too. not sure why but I like her.

Can I ask the difficult question

What has Botham achieved thus far?
I share your concerns about an "absent" chairman but then Leech clearly didn't have his finger on the pulse either nor was he seen around the club on normal match days. The financial situation has undoubtedly improved under ITB's chairmanship and I can't see FTECB trying to shaft us again the way they did with him around.

Harker should have went a long time ago, but the problems are a lot more than bang average CEO.
Botham is nothing more than a figure head trying to help the club out to improve revenue streams probably because of his name and contacts.

As long as they don't go anywhere near that salary cap again they will be better off in the long run.

what were you hoping for him to achieve?
Exactly what Wayne Entwhistle has said-improving finances which has happened. Not so sure that Harker should be taking all the bricbats- we do have a board of directors, particularly non-executive, who are paid solely to determine and monitor policy.

Surely the Chairman's role isn't a day to day one, ie it should be policy + strategywith the board. The Chief Exec is the day to day person to execute the strategy.

If the strategy is right then Botham has done a good job.

But the chairman also normally deals with external relations which means with the ECB. I'd reckon he (probably) hasn't done such a good job there given he was all in favour of this new T20 thing and the wheels appear to be coming off - I think the board will have differing opinions on that though.

The fact Harker has stepped down, which he would never have considered a year ago, suggests Botham's presence has helped achieve one good thing ....

I genuinely don’t know

But if we can slate the CEO of one of our clubs (Bain), then we can ask questions of another?

Is there a plan?

Absolutely no idea, but seem to have recruited a decent Chief Exec like

Plus I like how he spoke up for the club last season
