Durham Mags

Randy I can totally relate to that and probably better it - one of my grandas played for SAFC, I was brought up in Boldon/Washington, my eldest was born in RVI (supported Man U cos her family were from walker - didn't go to games but he thought it would keep the peace), my second was born in Sunderland but by then we'd moved back over the water and he was the only kid in school (North Shields) who didn't support the mags so he decided to be a mag, my 3rd always said she'd support SAFC. 10 years later and my 2 lads have had season cards at the SoL and love SAFC. Because their dad does and their granda does and their great granda did

I know the map thing is historic but you don't pick teams because they're doing well, yet it seems a lot of mags have - especially durham and washington mags otherwise they'd be SAFC.

Eh? Do you know the difference between a mag and a geordie?
You can get on a train at Durham and be in the centre of Newcastle in 10 minutes. It's far more of a fuck on to get through to Sunderland due to poor transport links so I can understand why any matchgoing fan in Durham would go and watch them as it's far less hassle.

Not something that's ever bothered me particularly. We'll have fans spread across the region as well because people can support who they like.

We are Geordies marra (Smiley face).

Not in my opinion, but who am I to dictate. I'm sure in a few hours when I've gone to bed and if this thread is still open you might get about 6 or 7 bites to that.

Any Geordie who isn't a mag and supports us instead is a turncoat/plastic etc.

I read it on here.

Really? Go on then, what have I missed? I was having a chat with @Doberman then many got involved. Then suddenly the discussion became Geordie/mag. I really don't get your main comment, if that makes me 'too thick' then so be it.

I was just demonstrating the hypocrisy on here. It's frowned upon to be a Mag in what people think should be a Sunderland heartland but it's great that there's Sunderland fans in so called Mag areas. I believe @Doberman was making a similar point.

We don't live under a Dictatorship in North Korea luckily so people are free to support who they want. I can't for the life of me understand why people would get so worked up about someone from a particular area supporting a particular club. It's a bit weird really.

Some of our most loyal supporters live in what people would describe as Mag areas.

Live and let live I say.

If any of my posts came across as hypocritical then point them out. Like I said myself and @Doberman were having a chat, now you've brought North Korean Dictatorship into it I think I'll jog along :)

I think you need to. I didn't say any of your posts were supercritical so you're now reading things that aren't there

So, if someone from Durham supports Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool etc, and there will be some, are they regarded as badly as those who support Newcastle?

Fortunately, I’m not a Mag, you gravy stained inbred.

:D
Sorry mate, I like my gravy too much too spill a single drop

No, why would they?

Just driving through Durham, going down the bank into the centre through the traffic lights. Hardly moving, obviously, but the cars going in the opposite direction are going ever so slightly quicker. I have my window down and some fella going the other way catches my eye, flicks his tongue up and spits at the ground next to me. I was startled by this but then realised why it happened... I’m wearing a Sunderland shirt.
Absolutely hate Durham Mags.
That never really happened did it?

Course it didn't.
It's about as true as that time that horrible Sunderland fan saw the Newcastle badge in my grans car when she was stopped at a red light. He ran over jumped up on the bonnet and took a big Mr Whippy type shit on the windscreen in front of her.
Horrible aren't they.

Being a mag, you would say that.

Course it didn't.

You forgot to add that I wiped my arse before jumping off.
