Durham Friendlies

And I wanted to read article about them as possibility replacing Robinson I'm well aware they have played one day games I've seen young mustard a few times live, don't overthink things no agenda I just wanted to know where you had seen something.
And you were informed immediately.
"Apparently you aren't allowed to ask questions" and you claim there's no agenda.

Because I asked where you answered then started waffling about credibility
That's exactly the issue-you persistently challenge my posts-I find it difficult not to question your sincerity.
Is vocabulary such as "waffling" necessary when I responded to both your questions immediately?

If I disagree with something I'm not just going to not ask you or make my point doubt something all you want you could have just stopped at the bit where you answered the question but you have to go on about credibility, surprised you haven't asked for justification yet.

Really can you just let it go.I posted information in good faith and I've responded promptly in good faith to your two questions.

Robinson seems to be the VC, so I find it highly unlikely he will be sitting out for any reason other than a rest or to give Mustard/Bowman a crack. Either way it’ll only be in the 50 over cup which being a ‘development’ competition these days, is exactly when this should happen.

good 'friendly' thread this

When I saw this morning there had been 60-odd replies to a two day friendly I got pretty excited that perhaps the forum is as keen as I am to have Durham cricket back in our lives…

Perhaps I was being overly optimistic
When it lasts a long time and it's getting to that stage with Ollie unfortunately. Already been hints in the media of Mustard and Bowman getting opportunities this season.

The case of Ollie Robinson is an intriguing one.

TRT is right when he points out that he’s been in a slump for a long long time now, but there are a few players who may welcome a drop to Division Two by way of rekindling a bit of form. Robinson is the main one I’m thinking of (Potts would be another) and I would love to see him get back to basics and find some form this year.

Having watched his batting closely for some time, I would compare him to Harry Brook in a lot of ways, his hand eye coordination is excellent and when he finds his groove he can play the ball to the entire 360 degrees of a field. He’s also incredibly impressive and assured playing both off the back foot and playing late to the spinners. The way he can essentially leave all three stumps open, stand back in his stance and then whip the ball away through the offside at the last moment, just as it appears it’s about to clip his stumps is fascinating to someone like me who could only ever successfully play spin by getting forward to it, right over the top of the ball before it has chance to turn. There’s only really him and Brook I’ve seen do that.

However, he also seems to share that Brook trait of being able to get himself out at any moment, often to a terrible shot and often also to situations that dictate he play a little more watchfully.

I think what has been clear from his tenure is that he’s a ‘that’s the way I play’ kind of lads and as much as it’s frustrating at times, because as England have shown us, you can’t simply have one method all the time, I think it’s possible to have one of them type of players in the side and have success. Given the makeup of the batting as it currently appears, we do atleast seem to have become a bit more traditional over the past 18 months and maybe back down in Division Two he can begin to thrive again if we can consistently put him in positions where he can be expressive and not have too much of a burden on his runs given the advantageous positions we’ll be putting him in.

Ultimately he’s a ‘finisher’, if we can have him coming in at 300-5 instead of 130-4 as was regularly the case last year I think we’ll see the better side of him again. You’ll note also from the above that I think his best position for us would be the standard wicketkeeper slot of number 7, it’s where I think he’d be most effective. It also gives more responsibility to the lads who’d be in the side solely for their batting.

Dear me,again. Because I doubt your credibility and sincerity by constantly querying everything I post. We're on entirely different wavelengths. Just let it rest
Again,Again,again. Closure please
I've responded what I consider appropriately to your questions.
Well a simple answer to a question you were asked would do instead of the waffle after it

I assume Bowman and Mustard have been picked in list A squads because they've impressed in 2nd XI and NEPL cricket but I'm a not a selector. So why ask me?- Hence,I doubt your sincerity. I simply passed on media information in good faith.

Durham University tomorrow, anyone going?
Was going to say no but red telephone will be there but he beat me to it.
Hopefully we find out later but would imagine its the same squad of 13 for university match that travelled to Sussex.
I suppose batting order may give us some indicators as to how they plan to start the season with Bedingham to come in for championship. Likewise with the bowling attack with Roach to come in. It maybe do we start the season with 5 seamers or leave one out and play a front line slow bowler.
