Durham Friendlies

Raymondo

Central Defender
The lads are playing a two day game at Hove that starts tomorrow. I’m guessing it’ll be a day of batting and a day of bowling - surprisingly the club haven’t tweeted about it yet. No idea how strong the side will be.

Then on Saturday, we’ve got a three day game at home to Durham University. I think with hindsight I’d rather we had organised a three day game against a proper team, but here we are.

Real stuff gets underway on Goof Friday, 11 sleeps!

You can follow the action on this website from tomorrow.

Dont think there'll be a YT link.

Was there one for the students’ fixture last year? Seem to remember there being some video content, but can’t remember if it was a stream or just the boundary and wicket updates on NVPlay…
The students game will be on YT. Or at least it should be as they have had a link for this in the previous two years.

There won't be one for the game tomorrow I think, as Sussex's warm up last week wasn't streamed.

Sussex are currently playing the final day of a 2-day game friendly with Worcs at Hove which isn't streamed, so I doubt they will have one up for tomorrow.

Kasey Aldridge, Colin Ackermann, Graham Clark, Sam Conners, Emilio Gay, Alex Lees*, Ben McKinney, James Minto, Callum Parkinson, Matthew Potts, Ben Raine, Will Rhodes, Ollie Robinson

Overseas players David Bedingham and Kemar Roach will arrive in Chester-le-Street this week but are not expected to feature ahead of the Kent fixture

They’re going to be in good fettle tomorrow if it’s effectively Day 3 for them.

For me looks like one specialist batting spot up for grabs in the top 5 if Robinson bats at 6 for Kent championship match..I would imagine Lees, Mckinney, Gaye, Bedingham are the top 4 then between Ackermann or Clark for the spot at 5. Ackermann had a shocker last season and should really have been put out of his misery well before being axed for the final match and Clark got demoted to bat at 7 in that final match. I suppose Rhodes could possibly come into consideration but he was poor last season.

Team News

Paul Farbrace has named a 13-player squad for the upcoming friendly against Durham, with Charlie Tear taking the gloves. Academy youngster, Louie Lawrence, earns a first call-up to the men's squad.

Squad

Haines, Carter, Alsop, Hudson-Prentice, Price, Clark, Lamb, Ibrahim, Thomas, Tear (wk), Carson, Lawrence, Henry.

I'd have Rhodes ahead of Ackermann.

Interestingly Zak Crawley is playing for Kent against Surrey in a friendly this week, so it’s probable we’ll face him next week. With that in mind, surely there’s no reason why Stokes can’t play some cricket for us in the opening month or so.

lv.play providing live scorecard and video of wickets and boundaries today and have likewise for tomorrow scheduled.
Correct.

How to Watch

We are not live streaming our pre-season friendlies, with light updates on social media. You can follow the action via our online scorecard in our - which will be live on Thursday morning.

There's a link for the game on NV Play too.

Is Daniel Hogg still injured

This was December on the Durham site so probably just back from Australia

With club cricket in Australia pausing for the festive period after this weekend, Daniel Hogg, Luke Robinson and Haydon Mustard will return to action from 10 January 2026 while Sam Conners has travelled to Sydney to play grade cricket for Western Suburbs District.
