Just seen an advert on LinkedIn for a new FD for Durham, £50/60k. Not sure if this is the correct forum but that seems on the low side for an FD of a company with Durham's exposure though I appreciate it's not that big a company. Also says they'll consider a wide range of experience, think they're hoping someone good will do it on the cheap because they want to work for Durham.

It is it you look at the size of the finances and employees but it's probably got a larger exposure than other similar sized businesses. The way the interview is worded I think they want someone who'd expect to get paid more but will compromise to be at Durham.
No suggestion of that in the advert

They'll quite rightly be looking for a cricket fan. IMHO that makes them more accepted, initially, to the members. They also of course have to be good at the job.
