Was going to say the same, if he's decided to continue to play as an overseas then it's a different ball game.Lets not forget its Bedingham who has changed the goal posts by deciding he is now South African again and hopes to play test cricket for them.
Durham gave him that long term contract as an overseas pro for the security of qualifying for England. But Bedders now believes that is unlikely that he gets the opportunity when he eventually qualifies and is spending his winters in Cape Town.
Parkinson not frozen out. He was injured at the start of the season. He played in last week’s CC game against Worcestershire.Foxes trio Colin Ackermann, Callum Parkinson and Chris Wright are to depart the Club at the end of the 2023 season. All three players were offered new terms but have informed the Club of their intention to move on upon the expiry of their contracts.Full story.
Sounds like Nixon been sacked so maybe things might change?
Not surprised, he’s done an absolutely appalling job
I wonder where this leaves Trevaskis?
Definitely not going to play 2 slow left arms in championship cricket and the way Sowter has bowled in T20 you could argue that Trev is the 3rd option as a slow bowler for t20 come next season.
Basically a very handy bits n peices all rounder which every county needs due to amount of cricket counties play in a summerI’d say it leaves him not at Durham
Thing I’m frustrated about is I think he has raw ability to be a very good red ball batter. Doesn’t like he will get chance. Think he could be a good all rounder
Any reason why he would be leaving?Be gutted if we lose Bedingham. The two lads coming in would be nice, but Ackermann isn’t anywhere near as good as Bedingham, so I hope that isn’t being lined up as a straight replacement.
I’d see Parkinson as an all-formats starter, but Ackermann as white ball only whilst competing for a red ball spot.
I’d asked the question then opened Twitter to see we’ve already announced himBedders has a couple of niggly injuries that he wants to sort and it was a mutual decision that he wouldn’t play T20s. He hasn’t been mistreated. I would still expect him to leave though, he’s a bit like Gaz Harte in the respect he’s grown up in major cities and the north east is a bit subdued for him - think he’d rather be in London or close.
Trev told he can find a new club after conclusion of Blast.
Parkinson deal been sorted for weeks, he was looking at houses when we played them in the T20.
Not heard anything about Ackerman but will find out.
2 in, 2 out I suspect. Goodbye Trev and Bedingham? It's getting harder to complain about Durham having a paper thin squad
