Durham double signing

Durham are close to confirming the signing of , the left-arm spinner, who is out of contract at the end of the season. They have also approached his Leicestershire team-mate , who captains their T20 side.

Ackermann played under Campbell for the Dutch. If we bringing in another batsman who usually bats either 4 or 5 in all comps then I'm taking it that we aren't confident Bedingham will be with us next year

Fair point

Don’t mind Parkinson signing but don’t wanna get too many lads outside area

Gutted if beds goes, totally mistreated in t20

Whispers were being exchanged between the MITKs* at the 2nd XI game at Ropery Lane that Bedders would be off at the end of the season.

*I hasten to add I'm not one I was just in the queue at the tea hut at the time.

I wouldn't be happy with that, unless we've got players who want away. I don't think either are better than what we've got. Campbell doesn't rate Trevaskis does he?

Aye doesnt seem to. Surprised Parkinson cant even get in this Leicester side mind, is there any reason?

Only thing I'd say from what I have seen is he can bowl and bowl all day long, fairly economically.

You are right on Trev tho, Campbell had a long look in pre-season and obviously didnt like what he saw.

I had the impression all was not well with Bedingham long before T20 games started.
Parkinson is contracted at Leicestershire until 2024 so they'd have to agree to his release. Not happy about the message these 2 signings will give to our youngsters who seem to have regressed this season judging by 2nd team performances.
Campbell clearly doesn't rate Trev but at his age he shouldn't be written off. Has the makings of a 3D cricketer.

Lets not forget its Bedingham who has changed the goal posts by deciding he is now South African again and hopes to play test cricket for them.
Durham gave him that long term contract as an overseas pro for the security of qualifying for England. But Bedders now believes that is unlikely that he gets the opportunity when he eventually qualifies and is spending his winters in Cape Town.

He was their CC captain last year, but as I understand it, refused to sign a contract extension, so was stripped of the captaincy and has been more or less frozen out, from the red ball stuff at least. His only appearance this year was in their last match and he took 6 wickets

Foxes trio Colin Ackermann, Callum Parkinson and Chris Wright are to depart the Club at the end of the 2023 season. All three players were offered new terms but have informed the Club of their intention to move on upon the expiry of their contracts.Full story.
