Yes but he wasn't looking to leave Durham that decison was made by Campbell who didn't think he was good enough and made that decision fairly early in his tenure.
Once they signed Parkinson they would not want the 2nd spinner in the squad being another left armer. I don't think Drissel has shown anything to suggest he is better than Trevaskis (certainly not in t20) but he gives Durham the option of a spinner who turns the ball in the opposite direction to Parkinson.
Personally i think the real question is on his first season "is Parkinson much better than Trevaskis?"
Yes. The problem is Parkinson isn’t better than Parkinson, which skews the perception.
