Anyone remember this?? Seem to recall it was to test the floodlights out the night before a floodlit National League game...... Is there a scorecard knocking about anywhere?? I think Sorensen kept wicket and in staying true to form (at that time) I remember Durham in trouble when rain arrived

IIRC it was also Nunez' best game in a Sunderland shirt . He must never have seen a cricket ball in his life before yet took 2/3 cracking catches

It's very possible Aleem. I think the scorecard might even have been in one of the yearbooks - but all my collection are all in me fathas loft at present

I played in the Murton v Sunderland game back in the early late 80s. Richie Ord was our player back then. He arranged it.

Denis Smith was a demon bowler. Gordon Armstrong and Gary Owers were shite.....Denis Smith turned up with all his cricket whites! Obviously played a bit. We won comfortably. Remember Paul Bracewell turning up late..think they told him the wrong time on purpose...
