Compare to team which played that year at the Racecourse in 2021 and the difference is stark. Lost Perry, Cracknell, Fernandes, the Price brothers et al. They look miles from what they were.

i mean years ago the Uni system was a bit of a feeder, but surely now anyone who's half decent will have been snapped up by a county, or are these lads who will be set to earn way above what a County Cricketer would

Depends on individual circumstance. Theres some lads at DU who are on a cricket based scholarship for a route into pro cricket and aren’t the brightest but there’s the academics who also happen to be cricketers who aren’t too bothered.
