DURHAM CCC - COUNTY CHAMPIONS 2013

Can we compile a list of posters on here who in April were bemoaning the entire side at one point and laugh at them also it wasnt just journos who were full of doom and gloom

I'll stick my hand up. I said something along the lines of: The top order were unproven and our best two batters and our bowling attack were fragile, and that any injuries would kill us with such a small squad.

Delighted to be wrong, proud as punch of everyone involved.

To be honest I think most of us (myself included) felt the same way about a possible lack of experience and definite lack of investment in the playing staff. That said, I'm sure that the vast majority of us were willing to support the lads on the field regardless.

Cue someone posting a quote to embarrass one of us (probably me) from April.

I don't mind being wrong if it means we're champions. Although I'm 99.9% certain I didn't think we'd get relegated. I just wasn't too sure we'd win the league. I am however, a few bob richer having backed us to win it back in May :-)

When we lose a per season friendly away to Staffordshire we can all start moaning again.

When does the transfer window open? I am sure we an pick up some journey men from Worcestershire Old Boys, or Surrey as they like to be known.

We don't need any old codgers. We do alright as Colly/Cookies Kids!!

I reckon if Scotland gets independence the ECB might try to claim we are playing in the wrong country ;)

We've just come up from the ground and the players are still there in their whites. The scene is quite amazing. We came out of Austins and the field was floodlit as they had put the scoreboard on that said "Durham CCC - County Champions 2013". It illuminated the whole pitch. The players, together with Jon Lewis, are sitting all together laughing, drinking and carrying on. Clearly a team bonding session that many other sporting teams could take note of. An amazing and surreal sight.

Condolences to Yorkshire, beaten by a bunch of Geordie trolls. Whether consistently preparing 100-150 run 'greentops' which favour their gritty, talentless batting (just watch colly), and their average bowling attack made to look superhuman because they practice day in day on that death trap.

Expect a contrived run chase and derby to return from whence they came, to the depths of division 2.

Geoff interview with Peter Allen from 56 mins, good stuff

Well done fellas, fantastic achievement and great to be there to see the moment. A fully desereved Championship.

Roll on next year.

Took this photo of Geoff as the team was being presented with the trophy after the game. Penny for his thoughts.....

I am SICKENED at the manner of this victory

Durham have prepared green, bowler friendly minefields where the ball has either exploded at the batsman's face or shot along the ground from day 1.

Durhams negative batsman have profiteered from this, nudging and edging their way to 250, whereas superior batting sides have been bowled out by mediocre bowlers who know the conditions

    Akin to cheating

[DOUBLEPOST=1379659042][/DOUBLEPOST]Mind it annoys me that the BBC Sport homepage makes no mention whatsoever of our victory...... Just some uninteresting article on an Australian squad for an ODI series in India
