Let's hope it helps the morale in the camp with him going, I don't understand the ins and outs of loan deals in cricket but will Yorks be paying all his wages?

Depends on their wage bill at the moment as they're all capped. I'd imagine they'd be contributing something.

It would be interesting to find out who's decision it was to send him away, you would think Cook had the final say but I wonder if Colly had anything to do with it. I'm just guessing as I've no idea if Colly and Harmison get on

I don't know either but doubt it's coincidence. Otherwise the timing would seem odd as he hasn't missed a championship game other than through injury (as far as I'm aware) so somebody's recently decided he'll be in the seconds.

Cover for Sidebottom (injured) and Starc (international duty).

Could be a good deal for both parties.

Colly is now captain and if he wanted SH to stay he would have made that known. the fact that he hasnt stopped him going suggests to me that a new era is starting to dawn at durham.

Either Harmison retires, finds a new club or his last season will be spent on gardening leave.

I doubt many will have wanted Harmison to stay.

Onwards now for the rest of the season.

Only quote from SH on the subject:

"I didn't want to play second team cricket so I'm glad to help Yorkshire out"

I think we've seen the last of Steve.

As I've said, "good riddance" to him.

He didn't seem to want to do much at Durham. I sometimes doubt he even wanted to play first team cricket.
