Drinking in Sunderland City Centre - restored

Us British are strange
We love a queue normally but at a bar where queueing is probably the most efficient way to get everyone served you think ww4 had broken out at the very idea
Reform will ban it when they come to power
Worked well when we were young without one long orderly Q at the end of a bar mate, it’s as shit as reserving tables in pubs
Off down the saltgrass and kings arms later. D.j's and that. Should be good(last one was class).
Any good mate ?

There was a long queue in the Cougar Rose on Saturday, I just walked straight to the bar and got served straightaway.

No need for it.

I think queuing is a good idea and very British
We love a good queue but however queuing in a pub is anathema to the British way of life
🤷‍♀️

Some old fella blew his lid with me on Friday because I did the same and got served before him. Took a drink, told him to enjoy his night and walked away smiling

I moved away from Sunderland for work, when I was last back, the weather was decent. Popped into The Colonel Prior. Last time I was in there it was for a wake it was shabby looking. It’s looks decent inside now and it was packed, cars parked up on the pavements up the Moorside road. Loads of people outside and the craic was decent.

The Prior will always be my barometer for better/warmer weather approaching. Pass it on my drive back from work and its always good to see the beer garden packed when the sun is out.

Used to love the Chester’s had good memories of that place, went to play pool there and had a load of drama with the parking years ago.
I also have good memories, I had a thing going with one of the Chester’s barmaids in the late 70s, older woman etc
Lovely .

Went to the Prior last Sunday and was my first visit in years and thought it was really good and will definitely start using it again
