Drinking in Sunderland City Centre - restored

Nightmare getting served most places which wasn’t helped by people queuing like idiots. Just stand at the bar like we’ve done for years. Middle floor of cooper rose, single file queue going all the way up the stairs to the terrace. Ridiculous.
Used the app took 10-15 minutes, never moved from our table, half way down the pint order another round

Surprised they didn't run out of beer yesterday, what a cracking day.
Couldn't have been more perfect could it?
Only thing that spoiled it was having to witness @Dave Herbal and @Sneech outside of Greens dancing to "Rhythm of the Night' by Corona
You suit those white denim 3/4 jeans marra
Pubs should put up signs to remind people not to queue. Happened in POC yesterday.
Fully agree
We were in POC for half hour and the young uns all in a Q , older lads just walkin straight up to the bar 😆… it’s stupid and needs to stop

Absolutely mental in the hour or so after the game.

The three bars in the fire station and vesta tilleys you couldn't get anywhere near getting served , just a mass of bodies.

Ended up on the street outside the museum vaults
Chaos in Fitzies and the staff in there are really good, just some people act like they've never been in a pub before. Think one of them was on the verge of tears at one point. She was in the middle of serving someone and he just disappeared.
I then confused the barmaid in The Isis by asking for two and a half pints and she thought I wanted two half pints.
Full credit to anyone working yesterday and having to deal with pissed idiots (and I'm including myself in that  ).

Aye my son walked to bar from middle of place and got ignored for ages . Staff serving the unofficial queue

The modern bar goer isn't used to that sort of level . Old schoolers remember the 3 deep glory days of pubs. I got served twice from behind someone by watching the bar staff like hawks and then shouting up . People chatting to mates at bar then fannying on getting sorted

Great for the city and the pubs. But I couldn't think of out worse than spending my night in absolutely rammed packed places. Love a little pub with couple of people in

Different when it's something like what happened yesterday.
Getting served is the only problem I have with it when it’s as busy as yesterday. Great for the feel and atmosphere mind, I just hate queuing for ages. Cooper Rose second floor was insane with a single file queue going almost to the top of the stairs to the roof terrace at several points pre match. They had to do that because it was blocking off the access to the stairs/toilets which they said is against fire regulations.

Was nice to tick off the National Reserve tbf, always wondered what it would be like because it doesn’t look the most appealing from the outside.

What's it like inside? Never been in.

Just your standard club mate really. Go in and you’re into a corridor, bar room is on the left a few paces up. Smallish square room with tables and the bar is straight ahead slightly to the right from the door. Round of about 6 pints came to £24 so not as cheap as I was expecting, Cooper Rose is generally sub £20 for the same.
