Drawn at home to Mags in FA Cup

1-0 Clarke, I’m going for an early goal and then siege warfare for 80 mins but we sneak it. It’s a one off cup game so anything can happen. Just gotta make sure no one loses their heads and doesn’t do stupid fouls to get sent off

Even rivalry aside, Sunderland beating this Newcastle team would be one of the biggest upsets in English football over the last decade. One of the great fa cup upsets.

This newcastle team are a great side, and will probably finish 4th again.

Sunderland have some good players including Clarke who can cause problems, but it will need a major performance from SAFC to pull off a giant killing.
.. Newcastle are just an average size club, bloated by blood money..
Your right it will be a sell out, your biggest crowd of the last few years.....well for the first 20 mins or so.....

We are the winners no matter what. We haven't sold our souls to a state that commits genocide, executes gay people, stones raped women, and thinks its ok to marry kids.

The gap between where we are and where the mags are is as big as it’s ever been. I’m expecting a defeat for sure and that’s not being negative but realistic. I just hope it isn’t a really sickening one and that the lads can put in a great effort.
Is it? When we won the league in 1936, they finished mid table in the second division. I would argue that was a bigger gap.

While I’d love for this to happen, unfortunately they’re a bit of a nightmare match up for us tactically.

They throw crosses into the box pretty much non stop, our biggest weakness is defending crosses.

I asked a lad i work with yesterday if he'd take a scrappy 1-0 win. His reply, "a win is a win"

The thought of them not beating us in our current positions is terrifying for them
My one mate who actually goes isn’t happy about the draw like. He’s doing the whole “anything can happen in a Derby” thing which is pissing me off, because he’s being too sensible
