If Villa beat Birmingham nobody would care, but if the result was reversed….

It would be a free hit for Birmingham
 

There’ll be no VAR - considering the amount of fouls the Scummags get away with when there IS VAR they’ll go wild and have a free reign to foul at will

Hmmm. Definitely atmosphere wise. But there’s a lot of recent Wembley play-off experience, which is definitely pressure.

But I do think its more likely that you come in complacent. Our lads are going to raise it. It’s natural to do that for any Premier League team. Often the Premier League teams switch off a bit, especially with fixtures like yours either side. You’d think the coaching staff would be all into them shaking that out of them, but stranger things have happened.

Tbf under Eddie Howe I don't think Newcastle have ever approached a game with a bad attitude like that.

I doubt this will be the case next month. There is, I think, eight Newcastle fans in the playing squad, so taking it lightly is unlikely.

Both teams will be massively up for it but obviously there is a big gulf in ability in your favour. That being said anything can happen in a one off game.

I'm not saying upsets don't or won't happen.
I agree that last year vs sheff wed the second choice players didn't play with the intensity of the first team. It was a poor show. I'd also say sheffield played well. Newcastle had a few good chances wasted as well, chris wood one on one springs to mind.

But this game is clearly bigger. It's daft to suggest otherwise. I don't think there's much chance of the squad or management taking this 3rd round tie against a team from a lower division lightly. It isnt a Sheffield Wednesday or Oxford United affair.
