Drawn at home to Mags in FA Cup

I just hope we give a good account of ourselves as they are a very good team with a high level of workrate. But it's a one off Cup game, and a derby so anything could happen.
 

In normal circumstances I always fancy us to beat the twats.
We could really give a charged up performance and run them close as happens in the FA Cup.
I fear though we could end up getting a bit of a mauling.
Apart from the quality gap they’re a big strong powerful physical side,that alone will probably be too much for us
Something like 0-4 I’m afraid.

There’s a chance Mowbray may rest a few for the league. Did your internal powers that be state promotion was the aim this season ?

I certainly got that cold feeling, uniquely associated with derby games, in mine as soon as I heard the draw.

It will be amazing. If we beat them it will instantly be one of our best ever results. Possibly only second to the FA cup wins
 
Unfortunately something like 4/5-1.and so it should be. If Newcastle drew Hull then expect that score line and they are above us in the league…
Oh how id so love to be proven wrong and O’Nien scores one off his hand in the 90th minute to make it 1-0

Actually that’s a good point, it’s been a long time since that ‘derby feeling’ so getting it out of the blue was weird
At least when we were in same league you knew it was coming on fixture day but this was pretty much out of the blue.

tbf, if i was on the losing side i'd sooner end up working at nissan than chopped up and put in a suitcase.

I do to. There'll be opportunities for us to attack space and we are actually good at that. We won't be expected to have loads of possession and to try and break them down.

We just need to learn how to defend corners and crosses and sit in and leave them no space.

I think they will massively under estimate us too. All this talk of them wanting a hammering etc... Stupid c#nts

The big difference for me is even in the past when yous were chasing for the title I always felt we weren't a million miles away and could have got a result and as the Head to Head results show its always been an even derby, this time the gap is absolutely f***ing massive of course we have a punchers chance but I think we all know the result

If it’s a home win, it’s arguably the biggest derby upset ever. Has to be around 80 years since we’ve played each other when in different leagues.
If it is a home win, given the huge gulf between us now, we’ll never live it down and your lads will rightly be remembered for generations.
 
we could cause them some problems but were quite unlikely to. In they end their physicality and energy will overrun us. Unfortunate but this Newcastle side is exactly the sort of team we struggle against.
 
If this had been last season I'd have backed us to win comfortably as they will put out a weakened team. Not quite as confident now but with a new manager bounce over Christmas we should do them 2-0.
I predict sending offs, season ending injuries then bother both inside & outside the SoL with both clubs getting sanctioned by the football authorities.
