Drawn at home to Mags in FA Cup

They felt the need to put 8 past sheff United earlier this season

Hope they haven’t got the record Tyne wear away victory score in sights 🥴

There’s pressure on us to win, as there is if we play other teams below us. Throw in a derby and there’s pressure to again win against a lower league club. I’ve full faith in the manager and players to adopt to that.
Like I’ve said, likewise there’s huge pressure on SAFC, they know they have to be at their very best to compete on pitch and to not wilt in front of their fans.
If they don’t do that and are comfortably beat, there’ll be hell on from the locals.
I dont think they'd be hell on mate even if we get bumped as long as they've tried. Not even the most stupid Sunderland fan thinks we're playing the same game anymore. It'll always be the biggest game they is for both of us but it's without a doubt took a wack with the sand money. I doubt there's even been a gulf as wide between us financially, infact we all know there never had been not to this level even with ffp your top signings wage and transfer fee would buy our entire squad and probably cover the whole squads wage with his weekly. Even in the heddy days of Keegan and the entertainers the gap wasn't anywhere near that big and with that comes a bit of shin taken away from the derby.

I'll still wake up on the day shitting it and hoping we win like I did everyone of those six in a row but in the back of my mind it's not the same.

if they were a tippy tappy side id defo fancy our chances but they are our exact weakness a strong physical side, good from corners and set pieces which as we all know we cant defend

I feel like a lot of Newcastle fans are desperate for us to play our pantomime villain part: e.g. "Grr we are better than you we will beat you".

For many of them there is a huge chip on their shoulders, they need to feel like the underdog, even though they have absolutely everything going for them. The need to feel aggrieved and overcoming some great adversity, which means they aren't satisfied with Sunderland fans saying "Yep we know you are miles ahead of us and will probably win with ease". They want us to be arrogant, some kind of vanquished evil foe, when really they are going to be kicking a defenceless puppy.

Well, I hope the players don't have the same negative attitude as most of the posters on this thread. It's like a Tony Mowbray Press conference, this thread.

We've got nowt to lose, they're expected to beat us. If they do, so what as long as we give it a proper go.

Either way, at least we don't follow a team of mercenaries playing for a murderous regime and a club who sold their soul for blood money.
