Don't renew

Baffled by some of the comments in here about not renewing. Fair enough it's your choice but some people have a short memory.

The same people running our club got us from league one to championship and championship playoff semi final last season.

This season has been a shambles, extremely frustrating and disappointing as the club broke up a squad of players that were a tight-knit group and took a gamble on replacing them with youth which has completely backfired along with their managerial decisions.

We can only hope they've learnt their lesson and that next season serious changes will be made to the model and the way the club is run.
They aren’t good competent enough, they are out of their depth and gave no grasp about the club or its supporters.

We have a very young group of players who will get better. I reckon for e.g. we have better players than say Blackburn. How many natural defenders were in our starting back four today?

How many would have been playing there if we had a fully fit squad?

I wrote the season off as a dud about a month ago and the games are just days out now. Still doing Leeds, WBA and Watford mind and enjoyed Cardiff immensley. I suspect those who moaned about the tickets at Hull and Rotherham will not be doing any of those games mind as given our form they are all likely to go down to season ticket holders. When they said they wanted to go to away games but can't get tickets, they didn't mean THOSE away games did they?

I don’t get your point on the back four.

There’s only Cirkin missing and that’s the first choice defence and keeper.

This current Ownership couldn't pay me enough to sit and watch that utter dross..
They couldn't give a flying f**k.
We'll have nice floodlights next season tho..
With the lies they can tell I won’t believe any of the “improvements” until they are actually completed.

It's amazing the level of vitriol and civil war like behaviour on here when things don't go well.

It's canny simple really, go if you want to or don't if you can't be arsed..it's your life
It’s more than that as sad as it sounds I’ve missed one season since 93 because of covid season,I f***ing fate my own club. It will kill me not to renew.

Cold reality is if we win a couple games between now and the end of the season this will be forgotten as just a bad day. Whether it should be is a different matter but probably what would be best and what most people mean is not renewing but intending on still going to most games anyway, be a bit out of pocket perhaps but the board will get the same kick up the arse from the lack of season card sales all the same.

We got 30 k plus season ticket sales in league one it will always be higher in this league

Lets be honest if anyone is buying a season ticket for next season then you have to either be desperate for something to do or genuinely thick as f**k.

You Either
1. Live in Glasgow and don’t go to games...and hence aren’t qualified to comment
Or
2. Live in Glasgow and go to games ...and hence are thicker than the rest of us 😜
I wasn't going to but when our favourite player Luke asked me to I just couldn't let him down.

Your lucky I’ve not even had an email to tell me the prices are going up

I’m outside the colliery tavern most games ,cant miss me ,and no it’s not easy to just pack in now but there’s only so much everyone can take and for me it’s this season ,all my family are still renewing and I’ve called them mugs/idiots for doing it aswel, maybe all
These years supporting them have left me angry/bitter/stuborn and maybe I’m being petty but for me it’s justified 🤷🏻‍♂️
You are not being petty, you are stating your opinion, which I respect.
I will renew, but will see what happens next season. I hope to be moving home which would result in more travel time and expense. And do I want to be bothered?

We only had 21k season ticket holders in our 17/18 Championship season. Average gate was 27k. Club could quite easily find themselves back down to that level if they're not careful.

Thanks for the advice.

I would pay to watch Sunderland if they were in the Wearside league. I am happy with the cost and consider it decent value for 23 days out with an extended group of friends. Hope this helps.
That’s it
I love the day out with me mates the club is taking the piss though. That’s the choice I’ve got to make.

The saddest thing for me was an interaction I witnessed today, it went like this:

“Dad, I don’t want to come here anymore”
“Ok son, that’s ok”
“And I want to support someone else”
“No son, that’s totally not ok dude”

Now here’s the real kick in the teeth. What if I told you I was the dad in the story and my uncle was the son?

I’d say “who the fuck says dude?”

Is it supposed to be funny?
