Think we underestimated league one tbh.. We all thought it would be a walk in the park, been proved completely wrong.. Nowt to do with the owner last season, that squad was more than good enough to finish top 2. Manager bottled it. Now he's gone we have to start from scratch again, and we are now seeing benefits, perhaps later than we would of liked.

Stewart Donald was literally a whisker away from achieving his goal at the first time of asking, then bigger investments would of potentially happened in the championship. I don't think he's done anywhere near as dreadfully as most are making out, you'd think we were bottom 4 and out of touch, we're bang in the mix for promotion. Think this transfer window makes or breaks our season, and Donald should know this enough to commit to giving us a successful window.

Time will tell, but I think he deserves to be given til the end of the season. I voted in.. But only for now.
I think some people are getting a tad carried away with our very recent upturn in form mind. Long may it continue mind but it's too early to be dressing for Spring.

And whisker's arse.

Like a flag display which RAWA organise?
That was at least something positive that I contributed to and always hope for a flag near where I sit to use. However, it is a sustained campaign to get the whole ground behind the team that is required.

I think most people are more surprised at the upturn of form. I didn't see us going 5 unbeaten at any point since parkinson came in, certainly never seen us being 6 points off 2nd spot with a game in hand.

But as you say, long may it continue.

I wish all the fans groups would put their collective efforts into getting some kind of atmosphere going at the SoL.. This is the one thing where they could make a positive difference.

Fans generally respond to the football and performance on the pitch. We're no different and certainly above average. Usually they buckle when it's a good atmosphere anyhow.

If there's a sustained effort from the team you won't need any campaign.

The teams that were at the top have all been in dreadful form of late to be fair.

There is no time with him though, that's my gripe. Hes been trying to sell the club for a year and would have happily had we been promoted. And will again this summer regardless of what happens.

He doesnt deserve time really when his ownership has been completely short term planning and mapped his exit from day 1. He isnt a long term owner who deserves time.

Completely agree with @GarethQ on this thread mind. Nailed it
Why not, he’s a business man. Most owners are there for themselves. Short had the club for sale for ages, no one wanted it with all the debt. I think a lot of fans should remember them dark days and I believe we could have went under, Donald came in and it was like a breath of fresh air. If we got promoted and was able to sell to someone who had more money to invest and he made a bit of profit, so be it. Any other owner coming in won’t be doing it for the love of the club, so unless all us Sunderland fans pool our life savings and buy the club we should back the fellow we got in now

I voted Donald in (None season ticket holder). I want the club to be sold but I don't want it to be sold to the first dafty who comes along with an acceptable bid so I don't like the trying to force him out mentality. That mentality also makes the club a less attractive prospect for potential buyers.
True

have to disagree.. Our numbers are great, but the atmosphere has been as flat as a fart for donkey's years now. The early years in the SoL we had some great atmospheres, and it must have been a very intimidating place for the opposition, but apart from that the atmosphere has been largely very poor especially when you consider how many people attend.

Because the football and results are generally shite.

I still want him out. Despite an apparent change on the pitch, we're still in a state behind the scenes.

Saw a thing on Facebook saying “where are all you lot who know how to run a football club now” just because we’re winning a game. Yeah, results are better but that still doesn’t help with an academy that hasnt Won a game since Donald hired his mate to run it, recruitment that is at best farcical, scouting that is literally non existent, a loan that Donald refuses to accept is linked to the club when it’s literally secured against the shares, another shareholder who despises us and openly slags us off and another who is virtually invisible.

Some people just straight up lack the intelligence to see deeper than the surface. That might sound arrogant to some, but it's a simple truth.

You have just hit the nail on the head with this post, could not have put it better myself.

Strange you should say that, it's exactly what we "let's not get rid yet" folks have been saying while the results weren't going our way.

Funny old game innit? ;)
