Donald on our January budget

Surely the whole debate is pretty pointless at the minute? Get promoted Satori gets involved. Don't get promoted then the debate is open as the gamble has backfired. Tbh I think Satori will buy the club anyway. He was prepared to buy Oxford who were arguably not in as good as position we are.

What does sartori get involved even mean? He is going to pump loads of money in? That hasn’t been mentioned anywhere other than on here as far as I can tell.

What will that mean? He is the one we know very little about.
I think the plan is, SD and CM are involved in getting us promoted, then when a bigger investment is needed JS takes over and he will ultimately own the club. I’ve been careful as to what I’ve shared since SD and JS visited me dad, and I’m not going to change that, but it’s certainly the impression I got

You might be right but surely that makes it even more pointless penny pinching over a couple of million, surely they would be better just ensuring we get promotion. Seems a very odd arrangement.

Steady the club financially and in the championship then he takes over and give the SD and CM a nice little profit.
And if SD and CM have steadied us and helped get us promoted I’d be happy for them to make a profit. I suspect they’d still ever want to be around the club in some capacity though

I’m not sure they are penny pinching, I think they no the limits, SD said as much in the podcast about our wage bill, the cost of new signings on top of that,, the money they are still paying for players not playing for us and our reduced income streams.
I think the test will be January and what is invested if we are still there or there about.

Ive got no problem with it.

Who knows but its the way I see it
Sorry, I didn’t mean to suggest you did

Its clear as day that we dont have any money to spend for as long as we have the high wage earners and that as we move up the leagues (hopefully) the likes of Sartori and hopefully other investors will be called upon because clearly Methven and Donald dont have much football money. The board will need to be continually expanded. This cant be it.

Fair enough that , we’ve still got watmore and mcgeady to come back , that squad should be getting promoted any way without any more coming in

Penny pinching was probably the wrong phrase.
I just mean if the plan is that on promotion sartori comes in and invests it seems stupid not to add a couple more players if required. It might push the costs up a million or two but any significant investment is going to do that many times over anyway.
It goes against what SD has been saying the plan is as well, although maybe you have more inside info.

It should and provided they play with more intensity and dont start off like rabbits in the headlights top 2 can be achieved. Some big caveats in there though.

I don’t really have any more inside info, I think in his podcast yesterday SD said they were quite happy with the business we’d done, we will know soon enough if it was enough to get out of this league and if it was then I’d be quite happy they didn’t spend more.
If we get to January and we are there or there abouts but look like we could do with an extra couple of signings, that will be the test for me, as far as spending extra is concerned.

You're right marra. I reckon that he has only been flying in because he heard it's less than 3 pound a pint in the Colliery Tavern.

If, buts and maybe. Football is full of them, especially at Sunderland.

Generally happy with everything thats going on at our club.Enjoying watching players putting shift in...fans getting behind team..honesty from the top...will take time but things are improving
