Donald has tweeted about the takeover

How do you know what I’ve learnt. I mean really. I don’t respond to you I’d rather you didn’t respond to me and we will leave it at that

You’re a very judgmental, particularly on posters who didn’t believe a bloke on an Internet message board had inside knowledge of a takeover
Waste of time....in one ear and out the other.

He’s talking shite that’s why

I just believe the bloke was passing on information. He's got no reason to lie...why would he when he's well known in person by many on this board and is known for helping our fans out on a regular basis.

Numpties eh...people like you wouldn't say boo to a goose to people away from here. I couldn't imagine just sitting on here day in day out waiting for an opportunity to jump on another posters back. Strange, strange behaviour.
Give over you’re 8 stone wet through man

Interesting to finally here from SD on this whole takeover thing. I realise that to try and forensically dissect his tweet will potentially lead to misinterpreting some of it but as it’s all we’ve got to go on from a completely reliable source it’s certainly worth examining.

For fans who are unsure what i said. I said I can’t say too much but it’s not quite as advanced as people make out but better than 50/50. Nothing is done till it’s done.We will know 1 or 2 weeks.Too many rumours with people pretending to know more than they do.”

First of all I can say too much - does that suggest a NDA or is he just being understandably circumspect?

It’s not quite as advanced as people make out - the club are obviously aware of the wide ranging speculation on forums/social media and I think he’s trying to point out that nothing is due to happen imminently

Better than 50/50, nothing is done till it’s done - I take encouragement from this. I think this is Donald saying confirming the deal is almost complete and although we’re almost there he knows if something completely unforeseen should happen and the deal breaks down, he’d be forever castigated by saying it was done already.

We will know in 1 or 2 weeks - at last a solid timeframe to work towards. We’ve had so many today’s the day moments at least we now know a definitive timeframe. Also interesting that this timeframe coincides with an official talk in giving by Donald at the SOL on 11/10/19.

The final line suggests the club are miffed with some of the speculation be it press/ social media etc.

All in all I’m still confident we’re on the verge of exciting news,

I think people are reading that it’s 50/50 as to whether it’ll go through, but having read it a few times, it sounds to me like he’s saying more than 50% complete.

Ive never known the board to be so full of posters trying to point score against others.

You used to be able to have an opinion and reasonable discussions on here....

Also noticed a dramatic rise in peoples replies based on the posters name rather than the contents of the post

Ive been posting here for a long time under this name and different ones. It’s always been the same as far as I can remember and people have always said that it never used to be that way.

nostalgia isn’t what it used to be

I think he’s done no more than ok

And that’s being generous

I’ve honestly no idea what people are thanking him for

You actually do though, which shows you’ve learnt fuck all

How about just wait till it’s happened?
Maybe some people feel that he has worked hard and are genuinely thankful. I’m sure they are entitled to feel that.
Just the same as you are entitled to have a different opinion.
You are voicing your opinion, why not let others voice theirs in the way they choose?

Stopped the freefall of SAFC
Cleared out the wantaway players on stupid contracts, disrupting the dressing room
got us financially stable and close to break even
managed numerous court cases left by the old regime
because of the above, attracted mega rich investors to buy us

Just off the top of my head like - he's worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to get us in a position to be even looked at by 4 billionaires wanting to buy us
This

As I have said before and certainly Grumpy will agree these takeovers can change at the drop of a hat - they can be on/off/on and as the deal gets closer there is often further negotiations/changes - it is quite common. They can (and I hope not) fall through minutes before completion. I still feel (and that is all) this is quite a long way down the track - it doesn't mean stuff is still being ironed out. Information has been given in good faith, too many people are quick to shoot people down without knowing anything about the process.

Buying a property, buying a business the intention is there but it takes a while for the legal process to work it’s course. It doesn’t mean the intention is to not do it it just gets lost between people reading, clarifying, signing information. Legal advisors juggle multiple things and do lots of detail backwards and forwards. It sounds done bar the tiny bits so still not done but the intention is still there.
Looks like someone is itching for an argument this morning.
No it doesn’t

Out on for breakfast?

It’s just a bit mad like That’s all

Wish Sunderland fans would have more respect for their club n realize he’s not doing charity work

He's clearly after an argument this morning, or to bait people into losing their rag with him so he can take the moral high ground. I've been suckered in this morning :(
