Don Goodman

I couldn't care less if Don Goodman, John Goodman or Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon and Kiefer Sutherland in a Few Good Men hate us. We're off to Wembley

I'd imagine the truth is he winds most clubs supporters up with his commentary because it's just generally quite poor.

Seems to form extreme opinions on incidents in real time, then doubles down on his opinion despite all other evidence, replays etc. showing it to be wrong/hasty.
This is exactly the issue with him, he doesn't have bias he's just always seems very stubborn

I don't normally go in for this paranoid shit but I'm sorry he absolutely hates us. Been saying it for years but last night just absolutely cemented my opinion. Was gutted that we got through. It's simple no coincidence that every game he works on that we play he has a right downer on us
There is a reason he never gets invited back to the Club as a player.

Don is a Leeds lad who was a 7 year old kid when we beat them in the cup final. There’s every chance he hates us.

He was one of the worst headers of the ball I’ve ever seen

He doesn't. I know that because he's a family friend & says he's got to be professional / impartial.
I ended up having an afternoon sesh with him and his mates in the Queen's Head in Chester le Street the day after we'd beaten Wolves who he'd just signed for. Great lad, never seen anyone drink so many pints in such a short space of time , had to be carried out to his lasses car.

Seemed like a sound lad to me.

Bit harsh. Not far off Quinny’s record that.
Not a solitary top flight goal for Goodman though. But in his defence he never played in the best sides either- 3 years here and we were utter shite in all them for example. He was my favourite player so don’t want to hate him, but he doesn’t half seem to be negative about us

He's spoken at length about this, he said he loves Sunderland the fans, he just has higher expectations and is desperate for us to do well.

He always claims our players are feigning injury despite them being obviously kicked or elbowed. It’s really weird, as if he can’t help himself and can’t wait to put us down.

When we were bairns we used to play Sunday league like most. One of the lads dad was a qualified referee and used to do quite a few of our games. He used to be so biased to the other team so he didn’t get grief or seem impartial. Think Don is like that with us I reckon.
