Don Goodman

That’s interesting because on our forum at Sheff Utd for years our fans have noticed that Goodman seems to hate us too.
Some fans have asked if he has history as a Wolves or WBA player when playing us.
He always praises the opposition and when we score he’ll comment that we were lucky and probably don’t deserve it etc.
He even said the red card for Bristol City against us in the play-offs should have been yellow because it spoils the game when the replay show Moore was pulled back.

Be interesting to hear his comments in the final if he’s more biased towards Sunderland or Sheff Utd.

To be honest think the nation as a whole are generally positive towards Sunderland. You’re a great club, great fans that has massively under achieved since the war.
However the media are very pro Newcastle, it’s sickly and I don’t think they give Sunderland enough respect.
You and Rob should get together and form a support group for fellow sufferers of paranoia.

Never liked the pr1ck when he played for us, let alone since he's been stealing a living "commentating".

Career as a "Striker"

Apps 586

Goals 162.

Shite.

A bit of honesty would be a help. The keepers follow through on a grounded Isidor was clear, yet him and the commentator said nothing happened.

The fecking country is listening to you man. A bit of a lack of integrity.
I don't mind the bloke and liked him as a player for us, thought he gave it his all and was a decent player in a poor side. But that moment you've highlighted was really weird, their keeper clearly leaves a bit on Wilson which the slowmo replay then categorically demonstrated and there's Don, "as we all thought, nothing in that...." as if we're all f***ing blind!

I see what people are saying , I can’t but help like him.

I like his analysis .

In my opinion I think what he gets wrong is because he’s a former player he goes too far the other way to avoid looking biased.

Last night was the worst I can remember him

He doesn't usually bother me that much, but he was getting ratty and bizarre

His sarcastic derision at a player (Isidor) seemingly writhing in pain being one

Maybe Mcinuff was upstaging him too much so he wanted to appear edgy towards a former club
To be fair one thing I've noticed when watching him commentate on other games he seems to hate when he thinks players go down softly. A striker could get two footed in the box and he'd bring out his trademark "Never a penalty"

I'd imagine the truth is he winds most clubs supporters up with his commentary because it's just generally quite poor.

Seems to form extreme opinions on incidents in real time, then doubles down on his opinion despite all other evidence, replays etc. showing it to be wrong/hasty.
This for me, hates to admit he got anything wrong, so a wrong call against your club seems biased.

Dicky Ord took him boozing around Murton when he was at Sunderland I suspect he was traumatised afterwards & disliked Sunderland since.

I think I’ve always found him against us,not hatred just not for us. Until the Burnley game where he went on scandalous about the penalties. Justice has been served etc. not Burnley are lucky as that’s a red card n not a penalty. Then the Cirkin one where he says no contact over and over again despite the obvious contact and won’t back down. Tit. If the above commentator wasn’t Donald I apologise profusely and 1 of his mates is the kernt. But hopefully we’ll be off up to premier league with our ambition while he still commentates on the championship where he spent his playing career as we went back to the promised land
