Mainze

Striker
Announced his retirement from the game after 2 decades.

Always enjoyed watching him personally, good servant to both County and English cricket, the hat trick in 95 against the Windies will live long in the memory.

Top player, always seemed a top bloke too.

Just hope he doesn't sully his reputation by going on to spout utter drivel on a national radio station...

i personally like cork and feel he underachieved at international level

his innings v the windies, where he casually replaced the bail and batted on to help win the lords test iirc, is a memorable moment, in what was a turning point in that english teams history

well played cork and i look forward to your windy up style of commentary

I might like him more hes not an opponent. Hes always irritated me when commentating on Sky though

Never rated him hugely, thought he was a bit of one trick pony and once he lost his outswinger he was wholly ineffective at international level, but you can't knock the career he's had and he comes across as good craic. Sure we will see plenty of him on SKY next season.

Was it ever revealed who he was signalling to and about what when he stuck 3 fingers up to the crowd in that innings? Nass did it a few years later in an ODI but that was clearly a gesture to journalists that he should bat 3. I have nee idea what Cork was doing.

Scoring himself on Dancing On Ice.

well overbowled by Atherton at Int'l level due to "cotton wool" being wrapped around the Injury prone Gough.

As one door shuts another opens

Their Greg has been taken on by Derbyshire.
