How has a thread that was initiated about the sad mags jealousy of our recent signings turned into the usual regular crap about the Fairs Cup ?
Is this another case of the sad mags pming each other and telling each other that we have a point here so they sabotage the thread ?
I think so.
For the record, I think the sad mags signings could prove to be very good....
but I like the signings of Gardner, Larsson and Whickham and we are not finished yet.
Get back on topic plllleeeeeaaaaaassssse

i would have took gardner and wickham but not for that price. The rest are nowt worth writing home about imo.

If it was going places why did the organisers need it to be taken over?

Who says they needed it to be taken over? I'm suggesting Uefa wanted it and they'd have the clout to make it happen.

You either genuinely believe what you're trying to argue or just being pedantic. Either way it wasn't the Mickey Mouse competition that has been suggested, it wasn't contested by no marks and it was position based when we won it (yes with rules). We won it.

Judging by our semi final I don't think that the Rangers fans saw it as second rate.

I don't really see the point of this thread. At this moment in time I wouldn't say we're a great deal better than them.

If they have something like the following lining up against us it's not going to be easy:

----Ba----

Arfa--- Cabaye---Marveux ---Barton

-----Tiote-----
Enrique--- Sideshow Bob ----Williamson---Simpson
---Krul---

I wouldnt have paid nowhere near what we did, as I wouldnt pay 10 million for an unproven rookie.

It was £8m.

I would say Newcastle has a superior XI.

Things might change, but Sunderland will need to do their usual trick of nicking 5 loan signings in first.

Oh and Newcastle are more than likely to lose Jose Enrique. Massive loss.

Yes mate, the Queen Mother killed Diana and the CIA bombed the twin towers

Whatever you like .............. you're freaking me out now,

Yeah 'cos you know all about those three don't you

Yeah I do. Well actually I don't but in all honesty I bet we know just as little about Gardner, Wickham, Dong Won, Larsson and Westwood. I know I'd be more excited had we signed Arfa than say Larsson.

You're just being daft now.

Unfortunately not because prior to signing for us they plied their trade in the exotic distant lands of Ligue 1, which cannot be viewed by any true Brit - oh, wait...

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the signings but as already mentioned both Wickham and Westwood are both unproven. Wickham is just a young lad so we can hardly expect him to be performing like Rooney from the get go.

Gardner and Larsson apart from against us I haven't paid a great deal of attention to them.

As for Westwood, yeah I've seen him make a few cracking saves but I don't pay a great deal of attention to the Championship, do you?
