Isn't obvious? They've signed Larsson and Gardener who succeeded in contributing to the relegation of Birmingham last season, surely you can see what we've got to be scared of? Add to that the fact we're signing a bunch of French unknowns (not as if one of them captained the double winners at times last season or anything) and as you must surely know, no player from France has ever been a success...

The competition, that year, was devalued by teams withdrawing for political reasons.

Clubs pulled out of the Fairs Cup because it was a poor conmpetition.

Mugging yourself again. Between them they played over 350 times for Hungary the least playing 33 times.

Quinn & Super Kev they were not. Face it they were a very good side and we beat them.

Is English your first language? I never said Uefa organised The Fairs Cup; I alluded that it could be viewed as a viable rival competition and it could have been in their interest to take it over into their umbrella. Given it's success I'd suggest that it was a good move.

Don't get cocky, I didn't say you said that.

UEFA didn't have any need to denegrate the competition.
If it was so wonderful it would've continued it it's own right. If it was so great UEFA would've taken it over and continued to bask in it's success wouldn't they?

We are talking about Uefa; they take over a competition that is going places, a competition that isn't associated with them. Of course they are going to rename it and try to belittle it's earlier form. Brand Uefa wins.

One thing is for certain is that they didn't want some of europes biggest clubs playing in a non Uefa competition. Take it over and try and bury it's past. History shows this time and time again.
