Dicks future in doubt again

shame we didn't get beat heavily on saturday as short would have had to spend. after saturday's draw bet shorts thinking that squad is good enough to stay up, while others are saying NOT.

like i keep saying shorts taking the gamble. with the same shit every year, only this year its being done in public for the press to have a field day.

time will tell if short like's the PRESSure.

Shows his lack of footballing nous then if he thinks that. The results make no odds. Win, lose or draw you have to spend. The result should not be the deciding factor in determining whether you spend money on signings or not. When have you known Ellis Short to pull money out of his pocket no matter how well or bad we have been doing? Ellis is not up to the job and what time will tell is whether or not he will come to realize that.

He's been around the block, and had enough success, that he really doens't have to deal with a knacker like Short who clearly does not know what he's doing.

I'm glad someone with authority has finally said what a lot of us on here have suspected for a while.....Short is gambling on scraping survival instead of giving a top quality coach the right players to work with.
Sunderland supporters have been incredibly loyal to Short, at least this sorry sarga puts things into perspective

After 5 in a row are the unwashed our benchmark like? Great that ewes are ingesting all of that cockney cock again like.....

Looked at the accounts. Another 17 mill loss. I rounded up as i coukdnt remember the exact number. He seemed to think shorts spending had stopped and said he was no benefactor when right now, thats exactly what he is.

But a large proportion of that loss could have been down to terminating the contracts of the people he wrongly appointed in the first place.

Or shite signings that didn't work out, I dnt know why people are so caught up on money spent, it's dead money it happens in football we must be the only set of fans that still worry about the £6m spent four years ago effecting the here and now. Dead money is dead money in football it's gone if you waste it In football you need to replace it it's really simple.

It's even simpler if it's not your money.

It's going to take more than a round of currys to get the fans back on side this time Ellis!

We needed at least £30m invested in the team. That's hard cash without selling. It's a white lie that we invested £21.5m. We did pay out that but got £12.5m back in. Short has spent approx. £170m but we got approx. £145m back in transfer fees. So that's only approx. £25m.

I feel sorry for Dick. I even feel sorry Congerton. The pair of them have been hung out to dry.

We are now feeling sorry for Congerton?

Of course we were we aren't the mags who hold grudges, I didn't want gus at first and didn't want Bruce but I was on the gus bus and supported fatty right until the last game.

Short has backed every manager until now, which beggars belief, being a financial type he must see the big picture and find a way past FFP like the rest of the fookas

That's all very true unfortunately. I can fully see Short's position in this but (as he's alluded to himself) he bears some responsibility. The platform was there to build a successful, self-sustaining club but the legacy has largely been squandered. However it's no good crying over spilt milk and Short needs to act decisively.....if he's not going to fund the players Advocaat feels he needs then he should make it clear, and make it clear this week.....then get on with the job of finding his replacement who obviously needs to be a man who can extract the very maximum from mediocre players.

Then that would prove he is indeed a fibber with his talk about ambition and moving up the table on Saturday.

He's probably of the same opinion as the rest of us that although we don't have a team of world beaters they're a bit better than they've shown us so far. That team (as it stands with no additions) is more than capable of staying up if fully fit, properly organised and fully motivated.......unfortunately so far this season they've been none of those things.
