Which is fair enough but I don’t see how it was “mental” people thought there was a chance he might not go like.

You can’t understand why a supporter of a club whose biggest ever signing hasn’t played a first team minute for months, not fully proven his fitness is now off to an international tournament is a little frustrated. I’m genuinely surprised at that

I know exactly why he wants to go and hope he does well but doesn’t change the bit of frustration I have about it

I agree it is frustrating- very frustrating

But if we move into the world of signing proven internationals of Diarra’s quality this comes with the territory am afraid

Alternatively we could go back to signing the likes of Darron Gibson in midfield- less of an international regular maybe

Gives him a chance to get match fitness I suppose, as much as I don’t agree with it. Hope he doesn’t get overused and come back with another injury.
 
Would assume Senegal would progress out the group easy, shame we couldn't have had a compromise where he stays with us and gets some minutes in the Brighton and Leeds games then joins them for the knockouts. But, provided he stays fit it will be like a new signing when he's back
