Went from hit every ball for 6 to one of the best ODI players of all time, a phenomenal finisher (granted some strange chases the last year, but maybe down to just not being able to do what he used to) and a high quality wicketkeeper in tests

I wouldn't disagree with either of those statements, does seem that the Indian players are more concerned with their own image and averages than say Buttler/Stokes.

His determination to be “the finisher” hogging the strike while doing very little with it during his later years became a bit of a joke.
Great to watch at his best though. World Cup winning captain and wicketkeeper, captain in all formats with all the pressure of a billion people on your shoulder (starting to sound like Nasser here ) not to be sniffed at

Nothing wrong at all on those stats, pretty great for wicketkeeper tbh BUT i don't remember him winning any matches and that strike rate wasn't good enough in some of their chases

The Indian crowds wouldn’t get fed up with anyone taking the field for their country. Every human being there worships that team. Hardly any of the players live there

Those couple of poor innings at the back end of his career should not distract from 90% of his career where he was brilliant in limited over cricket,one of the calmest players you will ever see when the pressure was on, ice in his veins

His ‘chase’ in the semi against New Zealand last year was comical. Commentators were totally up his arse about his ‘master finishing’ whilst he nudged singles and the rate required rocketed.
