Des Lynam or Gary Lineker

Huge debate in the Houghton Comms the other night with Falcsy and Walry. Who was better at hosting/hersting the PL highlights? Lynam just got on with it didn't he without any fuss but I know this forum is very fond of GL. :D

I would be interested in hearing the thoughts of @Rocky77, @Fetch Fletch and @Good Teeth Keith especially.

Has to be Lynam for me.

Des Lynam was a brilliant host no matter what sport he was presenting.

Lineker was really limited to football and not as good as Lynam at that either.

Go on YouTube and look at how Des Lynam broke the news about Hillsborough. I don't think anyone could remain as composed under those circumstances as Des Lynam.

Des.

I remember on local radio BRMB, the dj (Ian Danter) did "Des's Dedication" just full of double entendres, got loads fo complaints iirc.

Blimey.. found a clip.. from 14:50.

Even as a young lad watching the chinny twat he always seemed a knob
I was at Fulham a few years back and he was at the back of the stand to our left. Few chants in his direction and he came storming down to have it out, so more joined in the chant he got more annoyed, couldn’t hear what he was saying mind, Police ended up moving him. Next day the Sun headline was Police rescue Jimmy Hill from baying mob.

Entitled fucker, imagine living next door to that knacker when he was alive😄

Clough was openly dismissive of pundits like Lynam, Motson et al. Pundits who had never played or managed the game professionally were ill equipped and unsuitable to comment on games and also should not have opinions as they were worthless… in his view
I agree
Lynam wasnt fit to lace GL’s boots
